thank you soo much evildeadboy, i loved the solo and i transcribed some of it by ear but i was playing it the hard way without realising the solo is based on the b minor etended pentatonic and last few notes on the a major scale :D, thank you thank you :D
rectifier gain. ( a bit like a tube screamer or some smooth distortion)
and no fuzz.
But the actual sound of John Frusciante's guitar is just a bit of gain and reverb with the selector on the humbucking pick up (well thats what it sounds like to me). A pretty clean sound for a solo.
i have this ibanez ... its a good guitar ,, yet strat is my fav. i like ur music ,,, u need a strat... trust me save the road ..i am getting another strat ..ibanez do satriani stuff well ... strat bend is differnt ,... the length and pickups .. u know .. fender i recommend for that blues
dude that was awesome thanks! i was really struggling with this and still dont have it perfect but that helped loads, especially how you did it slow first then showed how it sounds at normal speed, really man thanks heaps thats great.
This video help me a lot to separate phrases and train one by one, thank you , greetings from argentina bro, keep listening music!

What guitar effect is that in? distortion? fuzz?
michyswah 2 years ago
Ok here goes......
compressor - medium settings,
bit of analog delay at 450 milliseconds,
hall style reverb,
rectifier gain. ( a bit like a tube screamer or some smooth distortion)
and no fuzz.
But the actual sound of John Frusciante's guitar is just a bit of gain and reverb with the selector on the humbucking pick up (well thats what it sounds like to me). A pretty clean sound for a solo.
