I have commented on this song before, but I gotta say again, I love this song! From that electric guitar that signals that something outstanding is on the way, to the fiery lyrics that Common lays down on this outrageous beat, this song is just awesome! I am so glad that Common was caught up in the euphoria he felt for Erykah Badu and made an album like this, this was a nice little break from normal hiphop. I thought it was cool, him going outside the box on this album:)

Thank God Kanye West saved Common from this era of music. If He didn't, next Common would have change his name to General Zod and stay making acid hippie 60's psychodelic hiphop.
@sk80soarus lmfao stfu. Be is an amazing album. Kanye is an amazing artist unless you just hate anybody succsessful. yes dilla is better but u gonna shit on kanye? fuck that dumb shit.
@SoulfulDesign I don't think Kanye saved Common. They made some great tracks together, but i would change all kanye/common tracks for the Electric Circus II .
@JohntheLiberator This album is a classic? Huh? What part of the world are you from? This album is a classic in that country Borat is from , and parts of Abu Dhabi. The hippie beat nick parts. I play this album when I need something to laugh it.
@SoulfulDesign Kanye didn't do anything but introduce the hiphop head we've been lovin since '92 to '02. the tracks were always there. lie and say No I.D. wasn't cold, and if you do that means you're too young to know who No I.D. is. funny, you make that statement about Common and his direction on this particular album, but what do you have to say about "808's and Heartbreaks?" lord knows that is no standard hiphop.
I remember when this album came out in '02.. mad peoples were torn.. where is Common goin? Whats he doin? I was impressed yo.. he took his rhymin and the music to another level...maybe a level lots of hardcore rappers dont get yet. This fusion was a sign of things to come.. as its all over the place now.h
its ironic though. everyone hops on lil wayne's balls when he talks about stuff that doesnt make sense. but common tries something different and peeps are tripping without listening to the complexity of it all
This is the common I remember--before he fell off. Com's rhymes were so clever it was unbelievable at times. Since he's been making movies, he just hasn't had the same impact with his raps anymore
This is one of my favorite songs from HipHop, period! Common goes in on the beat, and just beats the hell out of it! With the verses he spittin', he swinging Incredible Hulk strong on it too!
This is Common's 2nd best album. Much better than the next one which got Common mainstream, and 2nd only to the one that got him the most critical acclaim (Like Water For Chocolate)
"Punchlines like Roy Jones with poems While you and your dogs foam at the mouth Thinking rap is the only way out The black human genius will never play out I take you way out, where you never been before Been it since birth, sent to replish the Eatrh That truck that you roll is like a miniature hearse I deaded your shit before you finished a verse From niggas to gods from bitches to earths From Nat to Truck Turner that lives in my verse Realness is an act that you cannot rehearse" - Common
this beat is wayyyy ahead of its time.... Aliens bop their heads to this shit

@SoulfulDesign Ain't nothing wrong with that. 60s psychedelic hip-hop Common would have been amazing.

Are you hearing that chorus?
"The water river runs/... To purify the world/.... Flying through the night/.... So watch out here we come"
That is the sickest chorus EVER! Erykah Badu is a genius for that one. "Flying through the night/So watch out here we come"
Imagine that visual. Thats on some Fantastic 4 shit.
Totally amazing.
