@neoseraphus I believe it isn't simply the volume, as in a technical error. I think that it is meant to be like that, and the dynamic is say, piano, if the rest is mezzo forte. It sounds fine, and adds a little more color to the music.

Chrono Cross was... and just then a flood of words came to mind. Astounding, breathtaking, amazing, incredible, mind blowing, beautiful, unforgettable, immortal, sweet, nostalgic, ambivalent, unbelievable, powerful, deep, thoughtful, sorrowful, joyful, tearful... It greatly affected be.
the game was awesome in its own right, but i suppose it was a disappointment to hardcore chrono trigger fans. I still think the first disc of the game is the best first disc of all PSX games out there.

I thought Chrono Cross was awesome. It wasn't a Chrono Trigger, but it wasn't a completely mediocre game. It was a bit on the easy side, but the game overall impressed me.
@TelicNotionX It did an awesome job of taking everything people loved about Chrono Trigger and throwing it under a truck. This isn't about good games versus bad games, so much as how much Chrono Cross seemed like an attempt to troll Chrono Trigger fans.
I mean, did you ever get to Chronopolis, get the letter from Lucca? Exactly.
Also, the world was tiny, boring, and depressive. And the battle system as far inferior to the original.
And yet, Chrono Cross and Radical Dreamers are still two different games. Chrono Cross actually refers back to Radical Dreamers at one short point.
Before, I also thought it was a sequel to Chrono Trigger. Now that I know, I don't hate Chrono Cross as much as I did before.
Overall, Chrono Cross is a very decent game---above good, below very good. That doesn't stop me from enjoying it. I would recommend any Chrono Trigger fan to it as a spin-off title.

@PKStarstormDX And instead brought an amazing story, music that was somehow even better than its predecessors, and an ending that is still being talked about to this day. Did it have its problems? Hell yeah, but it was still an awesome game, even if it didn't really play like a Chrono Trigger sequel.
@PKStarstormDX I played through both and love both them with all my heart.....Cross had alot of elements from Trigger and were connected in story and more.
@TelicNotionX a late reply to your response in regards to the dip to the midi audio - Midi files can't do gradual volume changes so their closest method to following the notation of "pp" is a dip in volume. I have noticed this in a lot of midi files with ff and pp notations.
