I once read somewhere that the Kangaroo is considered Australia's official animal because they cannot walk backwards. Either it symbolizes progress, or it symbolizes Australians' inability to walk backwards.
We have 2 animals on the national coat of arms - the other is the Emu. A large flightless rather stupid bird with it's legs on backwards. What does that say about Australians?
Um, on the next driving time-lapse could you please turn off the radio? The chipmunky noise is annoying. Apart from that, it was a fun drive to watch.
Man that looks like a nice fun drive in the Scooby! I have an 07 WRX myself. Hard to tell under time lapse but looks like you were having "fun" as well during parts of that. Nice pass too. :-)
Oh shit. Look what you went and made me do to my nice rug next to my computer. Now I have to get the wetvac out and pick up this puke. It's going to leave a stain. Nice Subaru by the way.
How did you mount the camera? We'd love to do this through the Dandenongs! Scary stuff at the top with the fog/cloud. Love the car, we are Scooby fans, although we have a Mazda 6 MPS.
I found myself hanging onto my chair with a white-knuckled grip, leaning left and right into the turns, watching all 4 seasons pass by at breakneck speed, on the *wrong* side of the road! Whew! You Australians are such a daredevil bunch!! :O
It's rather hard to see them in the wild as they are, strangely, quite timid creatures. I will take some better video of the city and its surroundings as you don't get to see much in a few photos and some speed up film.
There are wild wallabies in the UK too - they've escaped from zoos etc over the years. Apparently they do quite well.
Here in Southern California by my house we get hawks, rabbits, quails, coyotes, mountain lions, deer, and er...ants. WE're about five minutes from busy Ventura Boulevard in the San Fernando Valley.
In visiting countries that drive on the left side of the road, I have just the worst time of it. I know others who adapt well, but I always have great difficulty in handling the difference. It's so terribly unnatural for me that I have to make a point of constantly keeping my mind focused on it alone, and so I become impervious to everything else. Heh, even watching this drive on the left made me a bit woozy. I curse whoever originally thought it a good idea!
Gone are the days of 8000 rpm 4th gear runs past the springs on the way down! Using the glowing brakes for illumination. ahhh, the memories.... Thanks bro.
wow that looks great I hope you have a second video for this. Australia fascinates me with it's weather, it's habitat and it's environment. I wish I could go visit once.
This brought back childhood memories of sitting in the back of the car with my Dad driving and feeling car sick and he would tell me to open the window and take deep breaths.
That being said, it was nice to see your part of the world and the wallaby :)

Can you walk backwards, askegg?

I dunno- do you normally stick your head in the sand when frightened? Or is that ostriches?

It's nice to see some of where people live. Would you do this again in summer? View-wise it must be much better then...

The video camera was mounted on a tripod in the rear of the car - kinda jammed in there. Press record and drive :)
If I do this again I will make sure I have the radio off and the GPS turned on.
