  • I've been trying and trying to find a recording of this song to use for a women's retreat in 2 weeks. The theme is "Lay Your Burdens Down" Do you know where I can purchase it??

  • Thank you for posting this video. It really helps me to let Him have this heaviness I've been carrying. You comments help too. I can see His compassion in this vid and the words and heart of this song. Abba is kind and tender even when we are in a mess and can't see Him. He is still full of mercy and heals broken hearted ones. He is good. Thanks for reminding me.

  • @HeartTrueSong Thank you. My wife and I have been going through a tough time ourselves, recently, with pregnancy complications & loss of income w/ her being off work. But through it all, we've come to find more peace and learned to trust God more. What could have been a horrible experience, God has used to make for a beautiful time in our lives.

  • Lay your burdens down then what? \

  • @Tsaunders1307 Lay Your Burdens Down at the foot of the cross. Let God take care of you and rest in the hope and love that he offers freely. We can get so caught up in thinking that we can handle everything on our own, but when we do, we get overburdened. But if we give our burdens over to God, He will help us with those burdens.

  • @obidawsn

Ya but people aer in all kinds of trouble, children getting murdered, wars, terrible diseases where is god in that? How can we say have faith in god when he lets these things happen, whats he from stopping those or other things from happening to us

  • @Tsaunders1307 God will not control human beings, that's the point of free will. He is in control, and works in all things, but it is our sin and refusal to obey Him that leads to all the evils in this world. That's not to say that bad things don't happen to good people, but we live in a world of sin. We can't say why God lets things happen to some people and not others, but we also don't see the bigger picture as He does. That's where faith comes in.

  • @obidawsn

I appreciate the response. I used to serve and walk with god but I dont know, I just lost faith in him, like you said I dont trust him. At all, the thing that bothers me is I feel hes not out for our best interest, hes only out for his, even though it harms us, I dont think he cares as long as what he wants gets done

  • @Tsaunders1307 It's easy to see that way, but that's because deception can blind someone to the truth. It's all in how you look at things. The entire Bible is all about God loving us, wanting a relationship with Him, and doing things in the best interest of His people. The Old and New Testament, both, are full of examples of it, even though most people will twist what's in the Bible to say that He is a God of wrath and not love.

  • @Tsaunders1307 I would love to continue this conversation, if you'd like. But it can be difficult with only so many characters in a comment :) Feel free to e-mail me. Just use my user name (obidawsn) at hotmail.com. I'd love to hear from you.

  • @Tsaunders1307 You say there are all kinds of trouble, and I agree. I work in the news business and see tragic things all the time. It's hard to see all those things every day, but I have faith that God is ultimately in control and knows what He's doing. By saying I can lay some burdens down and not others, you aren't trusting God to take care of everything in your life. Would you be willing to give up financial burdens to God, but not the burden of the loss of a loved one?

  • @Tsaunders1307 That's like saying, I believe I can trust you to hold this rock, because I can't, but I'm going to carry this boulder because I don't trust you to hold it. It's in our burdens, and the evils in this world, that we realize that we can't do it on our own. That we need someone greater than us to take on our burdens. We weren't meant to carry it on our own. We need God, and without having hope in Him and faith that He is in control, than there is no way we can make it. We will perish.

  • @Tsaunders1307 Another thing to think about, is if we believe that there is evil, then why do we believe that? Wouldn't that mean we were born with a sense of good & evil? So there has to be a greater source that embedded within us that sense of morality. If there is an ultimate evil, then there has to be an ultimate good. The world is in spiritual warfare between good and evil. You see it played out in many stories. We're in the middle of that, but we have the hope that God will eventually win.

  • Thanks for posting this-was surprised to see it! Beautifully done!

  • @scottwccc Thanks for the encouragement. Looking at your username (with wccc in it) and seeing the video you posted from Texas, I was curious if you were Scott Dyer himself? Sorry I didn't notice. I don't login to my YouTube account much, and I just happened to see someone posted a comment, and looked down and saw the other comments.

  • @obidawsn Yep, this is Scott-really love what you did with this-thanks for using the song!

  • @scottwccc I appreciate it. It's good to know that you like what I did. I was debating on posting it, since I didn't own the rights to the music, but I liked how it turned out, and wanted to put it on here as part of my demo reel. Now I can tell people that you like what I did :)

  • I found the author is Scott Dyer. I'm still trying to figure out where I can get the music.

  • Scott Dyer produced the song when he worked for Willow Creek. I believe we got the song from them. However, he no longer works for them, so I'm not sure who owns the song, now. I tried to find it on their website but couldn't. Though I kept getting an error. So they may still have it, but the website wasn't working properly. Sorry I couldn't help you beyond that.

  • Scott Dyer moved from Willow Creek to be the worship pastor at my church Bent Tree Bible Fellowship in Carrollton, Texas.

  • This song is beautiful. Can you tell me who the author is? I would love to get the music. I have sung Lay Your Burden Down by Chuck Girard for years. This is has a similar message.

  • Not off the top of my head...sorry.

  • great video, do u know any other good links to videos for a talk on laying your burdens down?
