But it won't yield any profit for years and years, according to experts, so stock prices will purely be based on IPO cash injections from Wall Street 'Pump & Dump' investors like Goldman Sachs.
Its one huge pyramid scheme with no expectations of revenue.
Facebook is still trying to invent ways to make money off its inherently weak advertising platform.
The valuation of Facebook's $100BN is purely based on number of unique hits, but user traffic DOES NOT EQUATE revenue, so its a 'House of Cards.'
I think this is a bubble (Gary Vee says it as well). In the end some of these will blow up and we're all gonna get down to do serious work again. Think about it: Zynga = games (not working), social media sites = not working, etc. Everybody's in it so the danger becomes even bigger - especially for those who invest a lot. I'd say diversify: do offline as well, do energy, do agriculture, do services - coz when the new this second internet bubble busts....
Everybody wants to get a big break in life and see the good stuff roll in but all these social networking sites are just sturdy but hopeful fishing rods in the pond of big chances as actually able and lucky anglers are few and far in between and this also means the unlucky and the noobs form the crowd total that would catch nothing and go home empty handed by sundown.
If a bubble has to blow, it will blow. The only question is: when?
@SeventhSun Soon enough. America is producing entertainment more than anything else - remember Rome? This is usually the path to demise. Seriously - there's too much fluff out there and social media and the internet are nothing else than a "phone machine" - why invest so much in a communication tool when communicating is no longer a problem? We're talking too much and we need to do it publicly via internet but this is not as important as solving real problems (energy, diseases, food, etc.).
This video isn't really what I thought it would be based on the title. I don't know what real estate and renting homes has to do with Facebook, Zynga and Google+ It's also weird that that guy is getting a lot of traffic on Google+ because it is so private? There are very few users compared to other social networking sites. Like, I'm considering never even using Google+ if it doesn't open to the public. What's the point? Just my take.
Last year Bluebird (a potato chip maker) held a competition for people to come up with a new chip flavour. The winner was to receive $20000 cash and 3% of sales.
I entered the competition in good faith by submitting what I thought was a good idea.
I didn't win the competition.
Four days ago while at the supermarket, I happened to stumble upon a packet of Bluebird chips displaying on it's label the exact flavour I submitted for the competition.
@3nasacova Did you read the fine print of the contest rules? Often times when you submit something into the company it states that it becomes the property of said company, or maybe by some freak chance, you and the winner came up with exact same flavor only they submitted first. Anyways, check out the fine print first.
@littlemisspaigexxx Actually I do have a next thing. I've figured out a new way to lose weight. An unscientific trial on myself is so far looking promising.
@3nasacova When you submitted the information, did you receive the contest rules? Terms and conditions. You need to have a copy of the submitted information, along with a copy or any proof that you submitted that specified information. Get that to a lawyer. Read the fine print, you have to be careful because sometimes in the fine print they give a disclaimer saying that any material submitted may be used. This is an intellectual property claim. Hope to helps! (PS. I asked my fiancé, a lawyer =))
@Joannemvt Thank you that does help. I have read the terms and conditions which don't specify that they have rights to my submission, and I do have proof of my submission. So I'm off to see a lawyer
Buy a packet and be proud of your innovation. Creativity is only meaningful if it helps the capitalists and well, you're probably quite young about life and you just lost as a common person.
Probably you ripped others off on a massive scale the last time yourself. Cheer up.
@SeventhSun You tell me I was probably an evil money grabbing arsehole in a previous life, and then tell me to cheer up. Well, now I can't wait to find out what shit I will get up to in my next life. I'm sure it will involve sorting fuckers like you out.
What do friend invites do? You don't reply, or respond, or talk to your "friends" and oh I get it? It's just to beg for subscriptions and being annoying on the side. Eh, anus face?
@kingice247 I've been into online marketing and technology for about 7 years, but on a regular basis I read tech crunch, mashable and wired - basically where I get all my info!
