  • Those must have been the most uncommon slang phrases I have ever heard. I have enever met anyone who calls an avocado a gator pear...? :\

  • so true. i looked up a aussie accent site and most of the slang it had, i had never heard enyone say it in my life.

  • typical obese amercan thinkin they're funny cunts. go to hell

  • G'day Mate, we gone chuck a prawn on the barbie mate

  • I'm just going to say, me and my friends made uup the word frothing and its not what it means haha :

  • that wuz saad....

  • I bumped in to an American tourist recently in Sydney. She was carrying one of those, Australian to American dictionary (mostly with phrases). Some of the stuff in book was either so old Australian slang, that its obsolete or just never heard off. And for most those entries, the common slang is totally different.

  • Hey guys this was done as a spoof BEFORE we actually moved to Australia. I'm amazed to see how many views this got! Never thought it would make it over 500! My best friend and I just wanted to have a wicked web show to show our friends and family back home in CANADA how amazing Australia really is. - Even after living there for 2 years. I still sound like Bridget Jones. I've since refrained from attempting an Aussie accent sheerly out of respect for my mates in Broady. lol

  • It's not "Apples, she'll be". It's "She'll be apples". I've never heard a single person use the term, though. lol The crocodile pair thing has to be made up. I've never heard it before. "Ripping" is never used either. It's an old British term, not Australian; "Ripping good fun!"

There's not really a lot of specifically Australian slang terms. We mostly use analogies, if anything, and a bit of ryming slang, but not the same as used in England. Ours is a bit different. :-)

  • i think that 1st phrase was supposed to be "ah, She'll keep" instead of "apple shill bee"... with the gator pear... i was thinking pair as in 2 so i was trying to think "what looks like alligator balls"

  • She sounds like a real seppo. Hopefully someone throws her in the rat house soon.

  • his a surfer, ripping solid frothing all wave terms ahha;)

  • mate, croc's. no such thing as gators down here

  • @buildingadream1

Haha Very true! Someone must have played a joke on her with that one. lol

  • this was pretty funny

  • im aussie and the only one ive ever heard is big red

  • @tharage53 Me too. Even then, I've mostly heard them called "Boomers". I'm a city slicker though, so it may be different out in the sticks.

  • she was annoying lol

  • Why would we call it a "gator pear"?

We don't have alligators in Australia...

  • "chuck a piss" - can't get much more australian than that.

  • How about "gahangetfarked"

  • Weird side of youtube again.

  • 0:33 the sounds fuckin scared me

  • ahahahahha i'm from Australia and the only words out of that that i've ever used are "g'day, mate, rippin', and mozzie"!! ahahahahahahaha

  • wat this bitch is on about????? talking about some dictionary shit, which is probably written by some amrican

  • lol ur from new zealand arnt u

  • That guy is hot. Period.

  • Moscitoes are evil, they are from the devil, don't call them like this. Looks like a fat anglo state this Australia, have no idea how i'm going to do it if I immigrate there.

  • @SomeUser9753 Your being purposely retarded right?

  • @Shinobi35103 No I'm not, but I'll be unfortunately applying the CA law when I immigrate to Australia. Moscitoes are what I said. Oh I'll teach you some real australian slang, are you ready ? :D. Fucking.

  • most annoying host ever

  • "She'll be apples"... Not "apples she'll be"

  • LOL. I think she means 'She'll be apples'. Gator pear is one I haven't ever heard before.

  • sick how yanks sound like poms when they attempt the aussie accent

  • @samdog23 y'all Australians, yanks are sick yep. but Dixies ain't!

  • @samdog23 Um... she is Canadian..

  • @samdog23 or kiwis

  • @samdog23 That was an attempt at our accent? I thought she was just a pom with a weird voice..

  • Ripping, frothing and solid are not Aussie slang, get it right. They are just words the young fellas use nowadays. REAL Aussie slang are the terms and words used to make STRINE a unique language, thats Aussies understand. If you didnt grow up with it you wont really get it.

  • @patthedogdownunder Slang changes with each generation. Not all Aussie slang is strine.

  • We loved Perth :)

  • @JillnStaceyDotheRoo my home!!

  • perth is boring ;(

  • If I'm not mistaken that's Toronto, I know that because I've stayed at that backpackers hostel. Great free pancake breafast, especially when you've run out of money and living on $2 hotdogs, lol.

  • @Rhiannon089 It is shot in Toronto :) That was right before we left for Oz! And we have heard great things about that hostel...and you can't beat the location!

  • Damn... wrong Andrew Hansen.

  • im an american in love with an aussie but he's taken and i don't understand aussie slang

  • Lol! Can't believe what a difference a year makes. I still can't do an Aussie accent. I've only ever heard Mossies' since filming that. And Yes Andrew is a Burleigh boy. REAL Aussie slang, is much different. Things you'll really hear is: Boardies - Board Shorts Sunnies - Sunglasses Arvo- Afternoon Avo - REAL for avocado johnny & pear - chair No I'm not American, and yes I was being a tool, I was playing up the cheesy tourist shiz. Oz is amazing!
  • SHE'LL BE APPLESSS

    not aples she'll be.

    ... moron.

  • Most of these fucking slang videos have no clue what the hell they're talking about. Most of the so called "aussie" phrases you'll hear on the net you'll almost defs never hear in real life. I've lived in Australia my entire life and never heard either of the first 2 phrases she used.

And only an Australian can tell the difference between an Australian and New Zealand accent.

  • this sheila's a tool,,,

  • Geeez!?, these slang words made up by yanks??, i have never heard of half of em!.

  • oh wow(: us aussies are pretty damn good!

  • "Ripping?!?! That's what my pants do!" This chick is funny.

  • He is actually a Gold Coast'er...borned and raised QLD'er

  • @JillnStaceyDotheRoo

    definately a QLDér

  • this guy sounds like a melbournite, cleanest form of australian accent. If you hear someone from WA,SA,NT or QLD you'll hear a thicker aussie accent, which can sound kinda rough but more distinctive.

  • @knottyboy20 yeah thats true, but if your from melbourne your not called a "melbournite" your a "melbournian" lol pronounced mel-ber-ne-an lol, yeah but anyways true, are you a melbournian?

  • MUZZIE? lol.. mozzieeee!

  • @xBeeecc lol we are getting more of a hang of the slang here now! We even say reckon quite frequently! lol

  • @JillnStaceyDotheRoo Its not 'apples she'll be' its 'She'll be apples'

  • Tinnies (beer in can) Stubbys(Bottle beer or can be shorts),Digger(Aussie army troop),Fair Dinkem(be resonable mate),Sangers(sandwich), Bloke(mate/friend), Shearla(chick/women), Big red (Roo),Ute(pick up truck),Flammen Galar(Noisie idiot/loud mouth) Ocka/Bogan(Redneck),Shit house(Toilet/bathroom), Pommy(British person) and the list goes on
