@jhawkod I love the bags, mine has 12 inch apes, the throwback sissy bar and I just put bags on it yesterday for a trip, love them.....the thing about Harleys is that everybody makes it their own with whatever modifications they want, and as far as I'm concerned, as long as the owner feels good about the mods, then that is all that matters.....nice bike!

Did you have to get your bike dynoed on a computer after you added the slip on exhaust from cycle shack ? Also can you supply me with the name of the company you delt with on e-bay, i would like to get the same cycle shack slip ons. This bike sounds awesome. Thanks, Craig.

hello love the bike have the 09 and just about every think you have mini apes and all but the bags but my question is i tryed painting my heat shields and it didnt work very good it fladed off so please tell me what you did to yours and even how you drilled the holes in the shilds please tell me ty jesse

jesse...sorry took so long to reply. i simply used engine (high temp) paint. cant remember the brand....not sure if that helps much

@jhawkod I had my heat shields powder coated with a ceramic coating. Find a local powder coating shop that can do ceramic (not all of them can) and have them done that way, they come out much nicer.

I just removed my thro over saddlebags off my nightster and found some nice little scratches on my rear fender. Check out to make sure you don't have any rubbing marks or scratches on yours. Ride hard!!

and mine. those bags suck and the daft upside down mirrors, whats that all about? and forward controls? fuckin' ruined it. stick some biltwell bars on it, solo seat from biltwell too, maybe short pipes, a jammer mirror, lose the freakin' indicators and fuckin' burn up the tyres bro....

bags: with gas prices i ride this to work as much as possible and i simply need to carry stuff.

controls: i am a big guy and the mids were way to uncomfortable

mirrors: again a big guy and i couldnt see over my shoulders, with em flipped i can actually see behind me now

I've just bought a nightster and it is going to be delivered on Wednesday - I can't wait. My question to you is where did you get your saddle bags from and I would be looking at getting some but I don't want to get a rear seat. I like the idea that it goes underneath the riders seat.

I like how low the bags are - we have two nightsters and were looking at a rack for the back but I like this better - lower profile. Are you using any stand off hardware under them or just tying them off?

i actually got the bags off ebay...just did a search for "sportster saddlebags". i am not too sure if i like the way they look, but they sure do come in handy.
