Yes they are upgrades, you unlock stuff like armor upgrades, turret armoring, and stuff like that as you progress

Anything for movement? 'cause if there was, that'll be so kickass. Pushing through would be waaaaaaaaaaaay easier.

Not sure about movement.... but to me it seemed like that movement bar got bigger as i went through the game. Maybe im just thinking of infantry movement, perhaps tank movement stays the same.
