Am I the only one who finds the Nether to be incredibly boring? There's also basically no reason to go in there. Except Glowstone. And I've found the Glowstone actually sucks.Netherack is handy though. But you can get it 1 square away from the gateway!

If you build two portals in the real world before going in the nether will they both be in the nether when you choose to enter?

@Daelitegamer nice cool idea I always thought about a heaven portal but the glowstone idea for the portal was really good get this idea to Notch now!!!

PLEASE RESPOND!! The Nether Wont Work. Ive made it perfect size 4 down 5 up and theres some dirt on the edges but ya but i dont even know if theres a update for nether.And the 4 pieces are in the ground like they supposed to be so. Please Help Mee!

@Xcelorate you should be more clear about your problem. dirt on the edge? the portal should be made out of obsidian.

when it's done, you have to light it up using flint + steel.

@xslypher nope, on peaceful the nether doesn't have any mobs.

@7Orbit7 it doesnt work as well here, i started the base with 4 horizontal, then 5 vert and round it all up, lightet it up with flint and we cannot enter... we hear the sounds etc but no teleportation, its bugged in full version now i think

@xsApollo I see the word 'we' in your text. are you trying it on multiplayer?

The Nether doesn't work yet on multiplayer, so you can't make a fully working portal on a server ;)

Oh nevermind my last comment I figured it out :P but whenever i use the nether I spawn on a little 4x2 platform with a sea of lava underneath? i can't even move or ill fall into it and burn, is there a way to fix this?

@paclac1337 the same portal will always let you spawn on the same place.

I think you are just being very unlucky with the positioning :l try making another portal at a different location, maybe even just a few blocks away. sometimes it's all about luck where you get.

No luck, no matter how far I move it always spawns me in the same spot. I guess it's broken for me or something.

@paclac1337 hmm okay, if I recall correctly the positioning can be quite irky sometimes.

but in my opinion, the whole Nether feels a bit............unfinished with some more potential. it also hasn't even be added in multiplayer and Notch has been awkwardly silent about it.

Thanks for the video, but the thing I don't get is that at 4:00 could you be able to go back using that portal if you don't like where you spawn?

For me its pitch black in the Nether, I can't see a thing, even torches do not give off any light, do you know anyway around this or is it just a bug?

@adoggred That's a bit weird, torches should work in the Nether. Although in open space, you will need a lot of torches to light up a place.

Haven't you been near fire or lava, which is found a lot in the Nether? Didn't that give off light?
