  • I believe he did a great job. Not many 18 year olds would subject themselves to being on stage under a lot of pressure. Congratulations.

  • I just saw les misrables last night got it from ttunes. there's no chemistry between jonas and the girl who portrayed eponine. no chemistry at all. if you check lea and michael ball there you go thats chemistry. and his voice not really strong but thats 2 years ago. maybe now.he improves. just my 1 cent.

  • hahaha he can turn it on (: That is what she said

  • when he ings red and black in the musical.. PHWOAR! is all i ca say (:

  • anyone else as shocked as i was when they watched it? like dammit man why the heck was he in that boy band with the voice he has?! yes, he doesnt hold much against michael ball, but you gotta give the guy props for doing this SO WELL.

  • i wuld love to sing with him...if i culd sing :/ :) haha i can act though.

  • @alyssaakalisa1995 same ;)

  • I don't think Nick is a bad singer but this particular role calls for someone with a bigger voice. Therefore next to the other singers he came off weak. I also think some of the music was a little out of his range so he was straining on the notes. That of course is the conductors fault because he could have changed the key a bit for Nick.

  • i really did think he would be able to play marius it is one of the lead roles!!!!!!

  • You know the director was drunk when he promised Nick the role of Marius. Just being honest. Something tells me that the director just wanted to be nice to him since he played for the show in the past. It's strange though what he was thinking. See Nick's not a bad singer, he just needs training and isn't ready for that type of crowd of performers.

  • @themillenia his voice has been trained for a different style of music. If he would have stuck to broadway since he was 11 he would have a much stronger voice.

  • NICK DID A FUCKING GOOD JOB AS MARIUS. end of converstation♥

  • I think Nick would have done a better job if he was more, oh I don't know, EXPERIENCED!!! I'm sure he would have been much better if he had more training in musical theater and not just pop music! He seems like he is having a great time, and that's awesome, but you have to admit, he sucked big time! I'm not trying to be mean, it's just a fact. To be in the 25th Anniversary concert, you had to be the best of the best!!! I would have preferred someone with more training.

  • Jonas was just plain awful in the 25th anniversary...guy can't sing and a total embarrassment..guy can't hold a candel compared to the other singers who are far better trained and WAY MORE TALENTED...why they chose him??????? very poor vibrato; his singing is all forced and he has no control at all. TOTAL DISGRACE..cossette irritating too

  • You can turn it on. ooh (; hahaha Oh i love you hahaa

  • idiots who hate nick, he is so freakin' awesome and this cast is, in my opinion amazing, but especially him. and javert and valjean were my two other faves. in fact, id jump @ the chance to meet these guys.

  • boy you always turn it on when you're singing! =D

  • i used to not think he was cute at all but because of this musical ive realized that he is actually REALLY pretty cute!!!

  • he's good but he gotproblems hitting the lower notes but good :)

  • Maybe it's cuz he does broadway... I do love a boy who can sing and dance.

  • He is so much cuter now that he's not with the Jonas brothers... Idk why...

  • Either he has no personality or he was NERVOUS

     :P

  • @BROADWAYaddict1313 i dont think he was either of those.... he just got done singing for like three hours! im sure he was just tired!

  • @ADDisONnnn Ohh, was this right after the concert??

  • me parece o esta nervioso?

    esta sudando?

  • He is amazing-33

  • so very handsome :) i'm so proud of him.

  • i can't stand the jonas brothers, but i'm very impressed with his voice in this. he did an awesome job.

  • i hate it how the haterz say he sucked just cuz hes a jobro![dont get me wrong i love jb♥] but anywho he did a great job! his voice was amazing! unrecognizable!

  • everyone needs to stop basing this poor kid. he's a pop star and not trained as a broadway singer. so it's tough. i'm not the biggest jobro fan but i'll give credit when it's due. i was very impressed with his performance. a landmark show like les mis wouldnt put someone who totally sucks. he did a very nice job, u cant compare him to michael ball. each performance stands on its own in my opinion.

  • I think that if he wasn't good they wouldn't of hired him. I mean I think he did pretty good because he's a Jonas brother and Jonas brothers don't usually sing like that and for an 18 year old he did good.

  • Omg do I hear a Luverpoole accent lady?

  • he exceeded my expectations, albeit they were low, but he was poorly miscast for the role. then again, that's coming from a girl who was raised on michael ball's portrayal of marius, but nevertheless, he (and the others in the 25th anniversary concert i felt were subpar) was what stood out to me in that performance -- it became hard to appreciate the masteries of singers like alfie boe. still, he isn't a bad singer. kudos to him for branching out.

  • Nick Jonas was the low point by far. His voice was way too soft compared to the others. Being 18 is not an excuse. He shouldn't have been cast in that role, period.

  • i am also a professional actor/singer in NYC. And from my professional opinion., Nick Jonas was 1.) Only cast as marius because of who he is 2.) Poorly miscast for that matter 3.) Voice is way to thin for the role 4.) no power behind the voice at all 5.) He is a gimmicky circus act on that stage compared to Alfie Boe (Val-jean), Ramin Karimaloo, and Norm Lewis. You might as well cast Miley Cyrus as Christine Daae.

  • I think a lot of people are forgetting that Nick is only 18 years old.

So with the vocal talent he has now on stage.... just imagine what it could transform into.

  • I'm not a Jonas Brother fan, but honestly his performance wasn't bad. He did better than I expected. His tonal quality could use work, but I was still pretty impressed. Definitely the most talented out of his brothers.

  • jonas stinks! they chose him for the newer audience. When other cast members sang he quickly vanished. This shows he was not preparred, He can not sing this style, he has no emotion singing experience to grab an audience. Say what you will, he ruined the 25th anniversary! Hey Jonas,, Beat it!! You Stink!!

  • @yankdiz THANK GOD SOMEONE SEE"S THE LIGHT!!

  • @yankdiz to expand on what your saying, yes. He did destroy this concert, If it werent for alfie boe, norm lewis, and ramin karimaloo, this concert wouldve truely sucked

  • He was definitely amazing. I was blown away by his performance. You wouldn't even know it was Nick if you didn't watch him.

  • Nick Jonas started his career as a child preforming on Broadway. All you idiots saying he shouldn't be doing this need a serious reality check. Jealous Haters

  • As someone who has been talking massive shit about the Jonas brothers for years now, I must say, Nick Jonas impressed me. He now has garnered my respect......he ain't no Michael Ball.....but he still get's respect.

  • wow! I really Honestly am NOT a fan of Jonas at all..But Nick..WOW! he was amazing! he should pursue this more than his Pop act. This is what he is amazing at!! Go Nick!! Im so jealous...i would LOVE to do what he's doing!!

  • I thought he did a really good job considering his training has been primarily in pop and stuff, I get where the haters are coming from he was a bit disconnected at times. but really, it is incredibly difficult to do musical theater and I give him total props for doing it. It was really amazing all things considered.

  • Nick is the one who made the Jonas Brothers come together. Joe and Kev weren't even supposed to be a part of his career.

  • I watched this on PBS the other night, and I must say that Les Miserables is my favorite play/book/movie. I love Nick a little bit more now because of this play. But he must learn to carry his voice out a little more, and get his tone quality straight. You could still hear his "pop" voice in many points of songs. But overall it was brilliant. ;)

  • I watched the PBS performance on Sunday and I want to commend Nick Jonas on the job he did. I have never seen him perform with his brothers or heard anything they sing, but in Les Mis he was just fine. I know I wouldn't be up there in front of those people and for being just 18, this was a great accomplishment. Congratulations.

  • i actually really liked his performance of marius. INFACT it made me have my zomfg moment of the month and i'll say i like the youth in his voice better thent he original broadway one, i was impressed with his performance, and i'm not really a big jonas brothers fan, i'm in my 20's and not a screaming teneage girl, but i know talent when i see it and i say jonas brothers and his pop career stifles him and i think if he continues with the more musical based performances he's got a great future

  • He needs a stronger voice. His tone is clean (and very nice in some points) but if he doesn't develop more power he'll keep getting blown out of the water. If he learns to do that without sacrificing his tone, he'll be great. All around, not horrible, but not deserving of such a big role. My recommendation to him: keep it up. There's some serious potential, it will take a lot of work to unlock though.

  • @Playstation72

He's only 18, his voice should definitely grow more powerful given time and training.

  • I thought it would be horrible. But when I saw it on t.v. last night. Wow. It made my day. Nick, please keep doing this, not Disney stuff. PLEASE.

  • @Proudnerd2013 Agreed! omg I didn't even know it was him at first! I thought it was a really cute guy who kinda looked like him cause he had a british accent, and then at the end when they announced all their names I was like omg thats Nick Jonas?! He did SO GOOD! And I LOVE this play, I was so happy :D

  • NICK ERES IDENTICO A EL PRINCIPE AZUL DE MI PELI LOS MILAGROS DEL SAGRADO CALIZ DIVINOS

  • he has a bit of an accent

  • so proud of him :3

  • he keeps looking away like he is distracted hahah it's so cute, I bet he was looking at Sam. <3

she makes him HAPPY guys, that's all we should care about.

  • f***k nick jonas. why is he with samantha barks instead of selena gomezzz!!!!

  • It's set in France. So why does he need to sing with a British accent? actors are so bright.

  • Hes really hot in this video bc hes makeup for the show(mis) is falling down his cheeks but just a lil and when he talks it always makes me wana faint, especially when he was hugging his dad and took out his this around his neck MADE ME WANNA FAINt, i wish one day i can meet them or i wish i was like their lil sis...and they can tease me be there for me! awwwhh i lovve him and his bros!

  • he's so cute

  • Who did he play in 2003?

  • @goofballnumber1 He played Gavroche

  • @goofballnumber1 Gavroche, the little boy

  • @goofballnumber1 Gavroche

  • I miss Nicks voice!!! and Joes!!!

  • woow, he's accomplished in his short years what others fail to do in a lifetime. :)

  • haha at the end " i can turn it on" oh yeah he can !

  • i'm really curious to hear his accent but sorry to say this because he might have misunderstood the question. it says if we could hear it doesn't say that the interviewer is asking HOW WAS IT. no offense... hehehehe.

  • @ninime101 lmao truee

  • yum.

  • ohhh sexy evil nick :) i like it <3

  • I would LOVE to DATE HIM! <3 sighhh:)

  • to all of the people making rude comments about his performance, i'd like to see you get on stage and perform in front of all those people.

  • @musiclover21097 Okeydokey!

    ...

Oh, except I haven't been making rude comments... dang.

  • @musiclover21097 I'm a professional actor, and I do preform in front of "all those people". So heres my rude comment: He was outclassed. I'm not saying I'm qualified to judge, or that he was bad, Just outclassed.

  • @musiclover21097 I did. He's terrible. :P Hahaha, jk. I actually did though.

  • @musiclover21097

I would fucking love to get up there and perform in front of all those people.

He didn't even look like he enjoyed himself while performing.

  • @rhcp0024 shut up, no one gives two shits.

  • @musiclover21097 Yeah, and he was great, like the best quality singing i have seen from him

  • ehehehe cute cute cuteeeee!!!!! ahahahaha

  • that just made him hella hotter... love the musical..

  • who did he play as in that play

  • @AWESOMEO998106 He says in the beginning that he played marius

  • @AWESOMEO998106 i think its marius

  • who did he play as in that play?

  • SAW THIS IN ENGLAND :) :)

  • I love how people say "He's ruining theatre, he sucks, etc" when they themselves are far from being theatre critics and don't know what they're talking about. As a professional theatre critic I have to say that Nick did a very good job in the show, showing colour, flair, a very strong vocal (if not quite Michael Ball) and was ideal for the part. Well done Nick!

  • @MrHarryTucker Actually, any viewer is a legitimate critic. Don't be so arrogant. You just get paid for it. That's what professional means.

  • @MrHarryTucker you can't be that good if you think that

i go to brit school, and students and teachers alike think it is a travesty that this spineless, talentless child is in one of the greatest musicals in the west end. his vocal was far from strong, struggling with notes both low and high, his vibrato is affected, his acting is melodramatic pantomime. his performance in general was pathetic and ridiculous.

  • @MrHarryTucker you're just paid to comment on something that you are not even qualified to judge

i, however, am a musical theatre performer. i'm not boasting, because it is not something to boast about but it is a fact. i have qualifications and i am getting more. i know what i am talking about. and i know that jonas does not belong in les mis, he is out of his depth and he should go back to sex scamming on disney channel.

    once a talentless sell-out, always a talentless sell-out.

  • @RedKingCommandz wow. you're so nice! NOT!

  • @edwardandbellaroks wow. that was such a good comeback, not. grow up.

  • @RedKingCommandz just because you're a musical performer doesn't mean you have to bring nick down. if he "doesn't belong in les mis" and is a "talentless sell-out" then why did they call him back? it's obvious he has potential. he'll get better as he gets older.

  • he's so dull

  • I thought Nick did an ok job,

The only problem for me is his voice had no power compared to Michael Ball in the10th Aniversary who was immaculate i'm not trying to down Nick cos i enjoyed his performance its just the lacking of power was unable to give me goosebumps unlike the rest of the cast

  • watch nick's performance in les miserables if his ok.

    /watch?v=y-ksAw8Tbuc

  • 4 people can't pull off eyeliner..

  • OMG i loved him in Les Miserable !!!! i saw him perform in Les Miserable at the O2 and i was just blown away by his voice. Im a big Jonas Brothers fan so to see him doing theatre is amazing and the fact that hes taking an intrest in something else other than being in a rock band with his brothers. I think i speak for alot of people when i say he was amazing in it and he doesn't deserve all the bad comments hes been getting from doing this part. He was truely amazing :)

  • /watch?v=dYToP5ZfydE

  • @abbeysingsjazz WTF? you are talking a load of CRAP!

  • People souldnt criticize nick for playing Marius. Cmon people please, even though he is a teen idol it doesnt mean he cant sing. If he got the role its because maybe he is more talented than people think. I think he sound really great when he played Marius.

  • @ValeAc95 He's clearly didn't hit any of the high notes that Marius is known for hitting. He just didn't make the cut for die hard fans. It doesn't mean he can't sing, he can't sing as Marius is known for. Listen to the original Marius, Michael Ball, he blows Nick out of the water. If give Nick a few more years to develop his voice, I'm sure he might be better for the role. I dunno, this 25th year cast just didn't blow people away.

  • @ValeAc95 I don't criticize him for being a teen idol, but because he sings through his nose and can't hit the notes properly.

  • @justintree3 and i bet u sing through ur nose to shut up

  • jai une amie ki allai le voir elle a eu tro de chance je reve tro de le voir!!!

  • Was that that Jamie Davis as Gavroche I saw him today in it!! He is a cutie!!

  • WTF. Worst Marius ever?!

  • @rockercharmz888 BEST marius ever, nick jonas IS marius

  • @seherrocks Oh God here goes. Plainly put, he can't sing to save his life, has constipated face expressions on every line, delivers lines with the only intention of hitting the pitch, doesn't relate to the character, has no power, takes breaths at awkward moments, cuts lines short, only knows one (albeit bad) hand gesture. He only got it because of his superstar status and you only like him BECAUSE he's Nick Jonas. Want a good Marius? Alistair Brammer. Antony Hansen. Jon Robyns. They can sing.

  • @rockercharmz888 dont. even. THINK. about the crap you just said. ok, he didnt have the BEST voice, but he gets an A+ for effort, he has a good vibrato, and empty chairs at empty tables was incredible. he was a great actor, he was mourning when his friends died, looked distraught at eponines death. he had the youthfulness that marius is supposed to have, and absolutely fit the role. he was perfect, dont even try to deny it.

  • @seherrocks Oh yeah. Except that all the other Marius' in the world did it better. He is the worst Marius in history, he was weak, shallow, and just unfit for the world. Get a life and actually know about Les Mis before you jump in with "Omg Nick is so hawt". He was SO unfit for the part it was embarrassing at the Queen's, at the O2 and he's disgracing himself and Les Mis. Look, I like Nick Jonas as a pop singer, but when it comes to theatre? Plainly: He sucks.

  • @rockercharmz888 he got the role, because he was PERFECT for the part. nick jonas has a beautiful classical singing voice

  • @seherrocks Michael Ball is the best Marius ever. you cannot top that, especially not Nick

  • I'm so proud of him..<3

  • no! i cant watch this any longer otherwise i'm getting insane! Nicholas is so damn hot (eyeliner <3 ) and while he's talking his voice is like music in my ears

  • I had the chance to see this and Nick did really well. I was actually surprised. (:

  • @RyanSpencer83 haha...This cannot get old. Its hilarious that you fail to r
