Guess what happened to me, yesterday I was cleaning up the attic of a good friends grandma, I found a black hardcase and she said that I could keep whatever was inside. I took it home, opened it (had to break the lock) and inside was - tadaaa a c64 + fdd + datasette + a variety of games on tapes. And DAMN it works like new!! Am I a lucky guy or what?? Just got Winter Games from Ebay and can´t wait to play it with my friends for the good old memories!!!
Where is my C64???? Got my Mac, plenty of terrabutes, WIFI, PS3, mobilephone, GPS.....and so on. But this is what got us all started... Miss it in many ways.....
Thanx a lot man! I've played this game when I was 4 or 5 years old, but then it was removed from the computer. The last 5 years I still wondered how it looked exactly, cause I had only a few memories of it, but this film brings it finally all back! Thanks a lot :D.
i loved the games series, best event gotta be the hotdog. damm the figureskating was so hard to land any jumps, reminds me of those crappy joysticks with suckers on the feet :)
I loved this game when I had a Commodore 64 the best part was the music..I wonder if you can put on the Music for the FreeStyle Skating event..that is my favorite
I remebered when CBS Sports had NBA Basketball, and they would play this song, at Halftime, when they would be giving you highlights of other Basketball games, back in 1979, and 1980, when the the 2 Champions in those Years, the Seattle Supersonics, and the Los Angeles Lakers, would go at it ,"Nip And Tuck", with each other.
Amen to that... I reckon Epyx included the "Play Some Events" option on the menu from Summer Games II onwards for that very reason... pick out the short events and ignore the long ones. I used to regularly play Hot Dog/Ski Jump/Speed Skating/Bobsled. I have to admit though that I've got Biathlon more sussed out than the Figure and Free Skating!
Great defensive infield plays compilation with this song playing. That'd be really fitting!Like,Ozzy Smith,Cal Ripken,Brooks Robinson, and the modern day ball players as well.
Yup.The Commodore.Winter games and the Artworx Hockey game at the end.Had all those games...And Yeah,Definately,That song RULES!Amazing that it's from 1978.I remember them playing that song back in the early 80's to baseball and football highlights.Definately Gets the adrenaline flowing!
Unusual that... I went to Musicovery(.com) to get something soundtrack-ish which would just fit the style, and there it was credited to Giorgio Moroder. Either way, it just works really well :)
The music is from Giorgio Moroder from the film "Midnight Express" (1978) and the theme is "The Chase". Omegaville, thank you very much for posting this !!! It's one of my top 30 of all times !
The music is from Craftwerk or Craftwork a german band of the 70's.Probably the first to use electronic sounds. Thanks for the video & remind me that band.
Have to admit, I never played Ski Or Die until I got it working to record stuff for this vid :) I needed more events than what I had in the standard Winter Games (and with a couple from World Games). Reminds me that it's been a while since I've done a YouTube vid...
I loved this game!! But I don't remember the one at 2:52 at all. Could it be that my version didn't have it?

Will see what I can do... alternatively if you just want the music, check out the High Voltage SID Collection, well worth the download.
