Why didn't someone tell me about this guy when i was 10? I am now 17, and even though i have been fairly "successful" in school, i always felt like i was wasting my time going to school. But the fact is, i have to go to school, because in order to get a job, i need formalized education (which really doesn't mean anything). So in order to be "succesful" today, you have to waste the most exciting part of your life by going to school. Oh, well... Life is crazy these days.
@cas343 That's a lot of money to spend on acquiring something which will have value for 5 years at the most.
The only way to sustain value in this investment will be either spend it entering corporate training or get on the education treadmill all the way to professorship.
Mr.Gatto is so right on about allowing all students to participate in discussion & allow them to practice in expressing themselves in front of others. I've read that parents only talk to their kids when they're doing something wrong or to redirect them on a task. No real discussion with them. No wonder they talk so much in the classroom. As teachers we need to listen & ask the student ques on what they're discussing & allow all students a chance to practice vocal/social skills. Thanks & Peace.
Marion v. New York. New York is foreign to the United States, and 28 USC 1603(a) "foreign state" is a political subdivision of a foreign state, which is a separate legal person which is neither a citizen of a State of the United states.

We have been sold into economic slavery. Not just "we," but specifically your own personal body has been sold without anyone telling you.
There are many definitions of The United States. The law says the US "includes,"- "includes" means "is only."
Title 28 Section 1332(d)"United States"(d) The word "States", as used in this section, includes the Territories, the District of Columbia, and the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico.
In America we are born American Nationals, and do not become federal citizens unless we legally are duped into swearing allegiance to the federal state. Trouble is, nobody tells us this, because New World Order society planners want to enslave us to the federal debt we did not create, and make us pay and pay because they maneuvered the United States into bankruptcy in the 1930's.
The 14th Amendment to the Constitution created a secondary class of citizens so the slaves could become federal citizens and be "freed." The only problem today, is that most people have been duped into giving up their Sovereignty to become second class federal citizens.
Also check out Charlotte Iserbyt, she was the senior policy advisor under the Reagan administration and has a lot of the same things to say about Education but puts her own little twist on it being employed by the Government.
I am also 23 and have wondered why I hated school so much, now I know.
I'm 23 also, I wish I had more people to talk to about this. When I have kids I am definitely homeschooling them.Does anyone know of any sites where people are discussing all of this?
I have finally understood why I hate school so much. I knew something was wrong, I just couldn't pin point one specific thing. If I wasn't graduating soon (4 months), I surely would have dropped out to avoid what I have already went through.
John Taylor Gatto is a real hero, I can't thank him enough for publishing this.
oh i am sooo most definitly home schooling my child. they are going to learn true knowledge as well as how to be self sufficient. things im still struggling to learn after over two decades of schooling
Do schools kill creativity? If creativity was a person schools would be it's concentration camp! I think that young people are going through a creativity holocaust perpetrated by teachers especially ones who hate their jobs. Everyone who agrees this is a disgusting inconvenient truth give me a thumbs up. BTW I'm only twenty years old and I understand this.
amen! I'm twenty three and it's weird how people in our generation seem to be the only one's truly receptive to this. I'm sure the younger generations will eventually wind up on the same page as us, but who knows if they'll even be given the chance instead of just being tossed in a literal concentration camp someday.
Excellent advice! I am going to take my Daughter out of this mess. This is her last year.I regret that I worked so much when my oldest daughter was young,I was never able to fully understand this. However, I am talking to her daily and encouraging her to unschool.I hope to be able to break my younger out of this mold.
I agree with you all, but you will need to work hard to preserve the right to homeschool. Under the doctrine of Parens Patriae and the fact that everyone these days has a birth certificate and a social security card, they are chattel/property of the STATE. Note that you must have a social security card to enter public school. Many people are withdrawing from these programs...to become common law free men.
I'm going to say thank you on behalf of your daughter. Don't feel ashamed about not acting sooner- most parents have been duped into accepting the school system and most never wisen up.
