@HOMEOFTONE if you are going to insult people you should try to at least spell correctly. Also I don't see anyone here asking you to judge this guys talent. Have a great day.......
not nice OD? You're kidding, right? It's a beautiful sound for country or blues. Buy whatever you want, but man I think your computer speakers must not be so good or you're just not into the kinds of music this amp is for. I just wish this was within my price range. It's $2.5K in Australia.
Fair enough, I like Vox too. Bought an AC15 which was affordable and has great cleans. If you're from the US, try out a Dr Z too. Bit like a boutique Vox. Seeya.
I have one it sounds amazing, even compared to amps like a VOX AC15 or a other bigger Fender Amps. Its expensive, but I record a lot and I use it for leading worship at church, so its the perfect size and the power attenuator is amazing. I don't use the compressor much so no comment there, the over drive sounds great, as you can hear in the video, and there's a cone/tube imitating line out on the back that actually sounds surprisingly good. not quite as good as the amp. but grat! hope this helps
Also, I wouldn't recommend this amp if you're playing loud with a rock band or something. It sounds great mic'd up, and its actually a lot louder than people give it credit for, but not like ... fill up a big concert hall loud. It fills up any club though.
agreed. for those who don't know(and that's probably a lot of you), in order to get twice the volume, you have to multiply the watts by 10. so a 10watt amp is half as loud as a 100watt amp. a 15 watt amp is half as loud as a 150watt amp. NOBODY needs anywhere close to 100 watts live. you're just going to mic it at that point anyways. with the princeton's power attenuator you can get cranked tones at low volumes and then mic it.
Nope. Completely wrong. A doubling of power makes a perceptible difference in volume. POint of diminishing returns after a while. I have this amp and love it. Want a Lonestar special though.
notice I didn't say there was absolutely NO difference. but it is no secret that the human ear's perception of volume is logarithmic, not linear. look it up if you like. I'm glad you enjoy your amp =)
Most bands, with a brain, would have a PA system, or play a gig where the venue had one. I know you all like to crank your Marshall stacks up, but I can do a full show with a Fender Mini Twin if I have a PA.
@mangydangle 15 watt tube amp is more then enough to gig with. I suppose if you play in a deathmetal or a shitty band(whats the difference right?) where everyone is fighting for volume then it could be tough. But 15w tube will blow away 50w of transisters anyday.
Very cool man. Kevin, you're playing is as good as it always is and will be. I wasn't enthralled by the Princeton, mostly due to the fact that it was like any other Fender, and the reverb was on.
wanky blues playing

Doubling power offers a perceptible difference, not times 10. 40 watt amps are only a little louder

Which WRHB Fender pickups are in the guitar? Is that a MIM re-issue with the Alnico PUPS or the CIJ Ceramics. Guessing those are no ceramic PUPS.
Thanks

mines a made in mexico, sounds the same as his so im guessing he has an MIM too.

loud enough to gig?
mangydangle 3 years ago
maybe in a smaller room, but with a full band it'd be tough to hang without it being mic'd

Fender Princetons are expensive. Over 1000 bucks.

ya last i checked they were about $1,400.00 dollars......ya expensive
