One of the most soulful, stirring songs ever written. Claus Ogerman's arrangement here is stunningly beautiful, exploring the full gamut of emotions of a great love affair, alternately soaring, joyous, playful, sad, pensive, nostalgic. And Jobim, never a professional singer, here puts in so much heart that his plaintive voice becomes a great addition to the song, not a detraction. I'm always surprised more singers have not covered this... One of the great love songs of all time.

How can one man create so many timelessly beautiful songs, of which this is most certainly one? We won't see the like of Jobim for some time,such a shame to us all he was taken before his time
