  • Wonderful video and exellent music of the old world but I am curious. What langues is this? =)~

  • I was so touched by this movie. It was just so sad at the end. Poor poor girl didn't do anything and she suffered so much. Wunderful soundtrack by the way

  • Amazing Video. Loved reading the book, and also watching the film.

Tess is such a beautiful women here :).

  • Yes, there was divorce but women did not have the option to divorce their husbands then. Husbands could divorce wives on certain grounds, not the other way around.

  • my final exam in literature containes hardy's novel, so i have already read the story of tess and i am really shoked now O.o i will watch this bbc version tonight :-)

  • somebady tell me, how she can marry ALec if she's already married!!???

  • @Vercippu, she wasn't married to Alec - there was no divorce for women in Britain at that time. She was really Alec's mistress, Alec just let people think they were married. Tess was still legally married to Angel.

  • @Muirmaiden So she shouldn't have killed Alec after all. Silly girl... :(

  • @Muirmaiden technically, she could have divorced him- women could divorce their husbands if they abandoned them (like Angel did) and blokes could divorce their wives if they had an affair.

But Tess decided not to divorce Angel, prbably because a he was in Australia and b she was still hoping hed come back

  • @miri1653 Angel went to Brazil actually.

  • @FellowTownsman in the original he went to Australia

  • @miri1653 Original?

  • @FellowTownsman yeh the book

  • @Muirmaiden divorce has been around since King henry the VIII, i believe.

  • @InfernalOneShot The ancient greeks liberally allowed divorces.

  • @FellowTownsman The greeks had some good ideas, but I meant in this country my friend :P

  • @InfernalOneShot Did you? Very well.

  • who knows what is the name of song in part 2 when girls singing for the cows

  • @milayakaterina, it's a traditional folk song, "The Snow It Melts The Soonest" - Annie Briggs and Cara Dillon have recorded versions of it.

  • @Muirmaiden

    thank you a lot

  • Beautiful job! I agree with your review as well - this remake remains one of the most haunting things I have ever seen.

Sorry to bother but I was wondering what the name/artist of the first song is? I tried finding it on my own but failed :(

  • HA just got it! Umlahi!

    good work again!

  • @serketstudios, Thank you! All three songs are performed by the Medieval Baebes - the first song is "Umlahi".

  • this is the worst version of Tess ever ... why do they feel they have to keep making it over and over again? it's been made beautifully twice already.

    stop while ahead!

  • Does anyone know the soundtrack of this film? its the very dramatic violin pieces. i can't seem to find it anywhere!

  • This was beautiful. Thank you!

  • she is so exquisitely beautiful

  • Wow, that is really beautiful :)

  • do you know when i can find original songs from film ?

    there is any soundtrack?

  • the best adaption. FANDIBULOUS casting!

  • Very well done. Love it!

    Hugs Annabelle

  • Absolutely Wonderful, you did justice to the film. What are there background songs?

  • The background songs are off of their 2008 album "Mirabilis".

    Umlahi

    San'c Fuy Belha Ni Prezada

    Temptasyon

    Glad you liked the vid!

  • A very sad story, a tale that continues to happen in various forms even today. Your video and the music brought out the why and the moments, which somehow make it, beautiful and yet tragic.

  • I love this movie so much! You did a great job with this video, the song did it justice. Gemma Arterton is so gorgeous; she became my fave actress after I watched Tess :D

  • dude i found out where you can watch the episodes of tes of the durbervilles! just go to pbs master piece!

  • you could only watch it for a limited time on there. not anymore they don't have it cause if you click on it, it says its cause of right restrictions.

you can watch the synopsis for the 1st episode which is basically an overview of it on there though
