Hello Tsuba!!! I have a cream colored Shiba named Awesome :) shes 12 years old and the love of my life...keep up the training and Tsuba will be very obedient :)  its so hard to find another cream colored Shiba Inu..most of them are the cinnimon color but mine looks exactly like yours! they are a very adorable breed but have a hunting side so always keep her on a leash. we used to live near hills and Awesome got loose and came back with a rat in her mouth! :0 so then we got a fence :P

Oh he is SOOO adorable! I wanted a cream one until I heard something about health conditions. I heard it was a myth, but after I got my red shiba, I really LOVE the red ones. If only those cream ones had markings. Thats what I love about the red shibas and the black and blonde shibas. But still, I still want a cream shiba. :)

I have a cream Shiba Inu too. Shibas are SO smart. I named him Kiryu Zero after a Japanese manga character. My two cats have become the alpha males of the family so it has helped a lot with the training. :)

it can indeed mean spit afaik (唾), but most likely, in this case, tsuba refers to the guard of a sword (鐔)

it's normal for shiba inu puppies to chew on stuff you just need to set the rules and let them know what they can chew on and what they cannot.

@VAkraut even for most of dogs it's normal, they chew things when puppies, no problem if you learn hi not to do ^-^ but some got a real problem with this and do that as a vengeance(Keiko, a dog I had was really hating when my mother and my sister would try to be the autrority onto her, I was her one and only master, results : my shoes were okay, bt the ones of my sister and monther were often eaten up in the morning XD) Shiba Inu aren't more "excited" than other dogs ^-^

Actually it won't. It just isn't recognised as a coat colour as it isn't natural. But a cream or white Shiba can come from a perfectly normal litter. Therefor it isn't 'Inbred'

If you are very passive, dont get a shiba. They have a tendancy to not listen and take the pack leader's position when they feel their owner is not adiquite for the job. Shibas may look small, but they are big dogs at heart.

There was a litter of purebreds I wanted one of, but they were $500. Which is around average cost for a Shiba, but they can go up to over $1000.

I'd advise you to get a Shiba MIX.

That's what I did. He was only $100, and looks like a Shiba but slightly smaller. He's a Shiba/Pomeranian mix, but nobody thinks he looks like a Pom. The only Pom thing about him is his eyes. He's cream with sesame spots.

You want to get the one that is medium level energy, unless you can handle/have the time for a high energy dog. Or you want a timid or mellow dog (I don't like mellow dogs. ;P)

Shibas are extremely intelligent! I bet it only took tsuba 3 days to learn most of his tricks! Funny thing about shibas they are mainly motivated by food. The one trick that seemed impossible to teach my Shiba was walking without a leash. lol, i want someone to post a video of a shiba listening at a dog park! beautiful pup!
