Out of interest, do you have the whole of Smoke Busters? I remember watching that in primary school and would love to see it again. Although i'm sure that when I eatched it, the old roto ident appeared before it,
Even though I do prefer 1987-93 there is something about this presentation that makes me keep watching again and again, the music for both gallery and countdown is just hypnotic to listen to all these years later even though my thoughts at the time were very different.
One question I have: I only remember the picture gallery with a grey picture frame with "4 schools" at the bottom - any idea when it switched from the gold and the "gallery" and "4 schools" text overlay shown here?
Remember being quite scared by the countdown part of this, probably because the teacher used to turn up the volume so the bass could be heard through the damn floor -.-
The old ITV roto was a hard act to follow, but I for one think the 1993 look was just as good as what came before, if not better. I love the ambient sounds of the gallery music. The entire package had such atmosphere to it.
does anyone know the name of the music which is playing in the gallery segment of this vid? and could they tell me where i can download it from plz? thanx!
The programme "Good Health" would have been aimed at secondary school pupils. A blue background during the countdown would indicate programming for secondary schools, green for primary schools and programming suitable for either would use a blue with green background.
I thought Channel 4 done a pretty good job when taking board of Schools programmes over from ITV but sadly it was not a good move when they changed the format come 1993 but also they should have kept the original format which consisted of a 1 minute countdown clock.
creepy. looks like visions of hauntings

@201081hero Yes indeed, the 1987-93 ITV Schools on Channel 4 was my favourite too!
It was a shame when they changed it, but I know it was to do with the fact that Channel 4 became independent of ITV on the 1st of January 1993.
Thank you for the posting though-well done!

The old music they had was way better than this presumably "avant-garde" nondescript stuff.
