is it kinda strange...that dilla would take this track and flipped it the way he did?.... maybe he was conciously/unconciously sending a message to all of us who were dedicated to his work and appreciated it...to let us know that he was needed more than ever in this hip hop industry but the powers/artist on the '"UPPER LEVEL" didn't value real talent like his...with this bullshit that's on the radio these days...we all wish he was here in the physical form but he's immortal now just press play.
@willielindquist Yes, this is the beat Usher used for "Throwback" from the Confessions CD. It's quite surprising that he sampled a "Dionne Warwick" track! A lot of people have forgotten exactly what she was capable of musically.
@doc7114 The biggest misunderstanding about sampling is that you have to change the track. It's about the music and making it relevant in that given genre and and of course above all...MUSIC IS EMOTION, so do what you will to meet the quota. If that was the case then everyone would have hits at hand, ask yourself this why do feels vary from one track to another even though they all sampled the same track?
@WarTornButStrong I agree with ya to the fullest, Dilla had a message in stop... he knew his time was drawing near... takes a real man to confront it like that, light up a fat one for the ghost, RIP Jay Dee
@SXSic Riiight!!! The way he flipped the Jadakiss sample "It's that real" to sound like "Is death real" that shit is crazy, Donuts is full of subliminal messages.
@getthephuckout I can see what you mean by that even though he still sounded like "that" lol but yeah I can see why people would think he interpreted it as death since his time was coming...

I know this song from the german rap formation PCP who sampled it on "Bierliebe".
This original is great though.
