  • I dont have the cutter thing but i really want to make this and i dont think i can buy it but i do have scallop sissors do you think i could use that

  • @MsSinger991 I'm not sure if scallop scissors would work. You could give it a try and let me know how it goes :)

  • So adding tylose powder to the fondant for frilling is still edible?

  • @MrsVanAs I didn't actually add tylose powder to the fondant for frilling. I add tylose powder to fondant when making figurines so that it sets faster and harder. You can still eat fondant with added tylose but it would be hard.

  • where'd you get that mat?

  • Hi there just want to know wat the difference between gum paste n fondant? Thnx

  • @josephc100279 Gumpaste dries faster and harder so it's used to make figurines whereas fondant is used to cover cakes. You can make a substitute for gumpaste by adding tylose powder to fondant.

  • thanks for exaplaining this mysterious frill :-) I didn't have ay idea how to do it when i saw the instructions.

    Good Job!

  • @MsGnorts You're welcome - I'm glad it helps. It took me a while to get it to work!

  • Garret Frill Maker Metal Cutter Sugarcraft Art ..... It cuts a frill of about 1" and to get a strip of about 12..... This should be a pretty good size right??? I need it to do a 8 or 9inch cake..... Thanks

  • That should work. You just need to keep adding more strips to fit the size of the cake. Happy frilling!

  • Great Job.... I think I might try it!! I need to get the frill cutter....

  • oohh i live in california, oh well thank you very much, i'm gonna try a cake store, maybe they sell them

  • You can also use a small piece of pvc pipe! I had some that I used on a cake that I did and I use it. Works like a charm!
