  • Probably better off being one of the aliens. The people driving the cars are complete assholes.

  • This movie is scary as shit...I wish more people in my age group were as appreciative of these types of movies as I am

  • I always love the bit where he looks into camera and says, "They're here already! You're next!" That would put the wind up people watching in the cinema. Great film, great actor.

  • "inhumany enemy bent on my soul's destruction...." sounds like a mother in law

  • R I P Mccarthy

  • just saw the news online..R.I.P. Kevin McCarthy

  • stupid studio adding the wrap around

this is where the movie should have ended

  • @brabon1 Part of me says that you're right but then part of me says I'm glad it ended on an optimistic note. The downer ending suited the 1978 remake if you ask me.

  • @cylon6 but the 78 ending was different

    mccarthy's rant is brilliant

    YOURE NEXT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @brabon1 True. But my point is that the original has an optimistic ending while the remake sees our hero lose.

  • R.I.P what a wonderful actor!

  • Sadly we lost Kevin McCarthy today. A very talented actor who left a great body of work behind. This film is a classic. No blood. No gore. Just excellent writing and and acting that produced one of the chillingest movie ever. RIP 9/13/10.

  • @baldur1377

But the original Colliers magazine serial version was much more saccharine and upbeat in its ending, so even the revised SNATCHERS is far better than Finney's first story.

He literally had the pods floating back into space, scared off by human resistance, as his friend Bellecec returned, successfully, with the police to rescue the doctor outright.

I've seen both versions and like the more positive take, especially after the grimness of Becky's loss to the pods.

  • Ellsworth Fredericks's cinematography is superb!

(He also did "Seven Days In May").

    Classic flick!

  • Do you feel the maker of the movie is trying to warn the watcher of a conspiracy?

I do, it's called Freemasonry or Illuminati. Either be a part of it or die.

  • @randalljones58 Back then nobody cared about freemasonry. This was the '50s. This was the Red Scare.

  • Classic movie! >; )

  • Epic fourth wall break.

  • I have this original version on DVD. It's the best IMO. I love the look on the doctor's face when he realizes Becky's gone to sleep...and when she wakes up with her eyes opening eerily....

  • this would have been the best ending ever. they shouldn't have ended those bookends.

  • damn it becky! why couldn't you have just stayed awake?

  • @surfrocksound And he should have destroyed the Becky pod when he had the chance. Damn fool!

  • 50's version is the best

  • Yeah but I do miss,Brooke Adams swanning around in the nude,,though.

  • "YOU'RE NEXT! YOU'RE NEXT!" Classic...

  • One of my all time favorite movies!

  • Can anybody download the entire movie?
