Not saying 6-player is a good idea, but up to 8 players could be done on the Wii. 4 Wiimotes, 4 GameCube controllers.

The Wii sadly lacks the horsepower to pull it correctly, so I was thinking it should be saved for their next console if it is stronger.

Uh... the number of players in a game has nothing to do with how much horsepower a game has if you do it in certain ways.
what to fix for ssb4?
how bout online multiplayer that isnt laggy as sh!t. and playlists that dont use timer
oh and no tripping...
