When you look back at all the great personalities who worked at MCA, ABC, NEW, and WOR, it was so easy to take them for granted. Who would have imagined that today we'd be in the twilight of that era? As each one passes, the world is a little poorer for it. It was truly a gift for those of us who grew up listening to them. R.I.P. Ron and thanks for the happiness you brought into my life.
When I was a kid growing up in The Bronx, I listened to Ron and Harry Harrison all the time. When ever I take a memory trip back to those days in the 70's, the first memory would be Ron on 77 ABC waking me up to HELLOOOO LOVE. I then realize how much I miss those days greatly. All we had was AM back then and I rode my Schwinn Banana seat bike all over, on it was the latest piece of tech, an AM radio mounted to the bars with a light and siren, NOW Ron and Harry were with me all day. Good ol Days
@SendinK9 I remember those days myself as a kid growing up in the Throgs Neck section of The Bronx... my sister used to sit outside our house or in her room in the summertime & listen to WABC radio with Ron Lundy..... play some great tunes... those were the good ol days...
A class act a nice guy and a wonderful person .. if you want to leave flowers for RON go to find a grave .com ron lundy I made a memorial for him there ~
For some reason, when I see this I hear 77WABC playing More Today Than Yesterday by Spiral Staircase and Ron Lundy is doing the ramp(talking during the instrumental intro of the song) saying "He-Lo love, this is Ron Lundy sayin good mornin, how ya doin, lets have a cup of coffee."I hate the word good-bye but you r still alive in our hearts and minds.
I miss him allot. Like a family member,Leaving to a deserted island. Or someone putting tape over his mouth. Real shame not be be able to hear his voice. I was spoiled and would like just a peep from him today. Great video.
@swarlock I left a word or two on the video page but I want to say to you in a reply to your video that I know how hard it is to say " I'll never hear him talk to me again" But you should follow it with "I'll always hear me talking about him" Because that memory lives with us forever! Long remember radio when it had talent like Ron Lundy entertaining us.

SEMPER FI, MY BROTHER MARINE, GUARD THE STREETS WELL.
For those who do not know, the last line of the last stanza of the Marine Corps Hymn read:
"If the Army and the Navy ever look on Heavens Scene,
They will find the streets guarded by United States Marines

Lovely. Simply lovely.
Honestly, will we ever not hear his voice? Just close your eyes and listen.
