Mud does not kill a truck. Being a lazy ass and letting mud dry, and leaving it caked all over every damn moving part because you think it makes you look "cool" is what kills a truck. I got an 86 ext cab 22re, with a detroit locker in the front. The locker pretty much takes the fun out of everything because no matter how deep that Alabama mud hole gets, the damn thing just wont quit moving forward. Toyotas are the best/tuffest vehicles in the world. And whoever disagrees hasn't owned one.
my dad gave me his 95 toyota pickup and i love it but only drive it around the farm of course but it is awsome i am looking for some performance parts for it
@Countryman984 Northwest off road makes bad ass headers, total chaos has killer bolt on IFS suspension kit if your don't want to go as far as a SAS. Take a look at Pirate 4x4's Toyota area if you need any ideas.
The truck may handle the muck, temporarily, but Toyota designed it more with roads in mind. If you want to treat your road machine like an ATV, go for it!
@madmax079 I still don't see the logic in deliberately taking a nice functional machine purposefully into this kind of stuff. Let the ATV's, dirt bikes and side by sides take this on instead, they are cheaper, lighter and truly made to go into the muck even more so than the truck is. You can also extract them a hell of a lot easier and less expensively if you get intractably stuck. Also, WHEN the machine wears out its easier to fix as well. Just go have fun, do what you want.
@madmax079 ha, well I just got an 18,000 lb gvwr three axle fifth wheel toy hauler so I DO need it and that is exactly what I got it for! Yes, everyone uses their vehicles for what they want to use them for. I know for a fact I won't be mudding with mine, too heavy and expensive. The yota, lighter, cheaper, more suited for use as a toy. You guys can play, mine actually does WORK. hehe
@radix7508 Ok, so you understand that different vehicles are used for different purposes. The video shows a truck going through mud and water that you know it can handle, yet you comment on how dumb he is for doing it. Then you comment on how much money it will cost him to fix it while almost simultaneously telling us that you spent a TON of money on a 2012 3500 diesel duelly and triple axle toy hauler presumably for fun. Where is the logic and what is the point of your rambling!?
My 08 Sierra 2500 diesel had been buried in mud by prior owners, they shredded the transfer case and front differential for me. I got it fixed under warranty but I traded that one off knowing that it had been abused by other people. My new '12 3500 diesel dually will not intentionally see mud or deep water if I can help it. This is some of my experience with water and mud wrecking machinery. Think about it, silt suspended in muddy water, its going to grind the hell out of everthiing.
@radix7508 Apples to Oranges. Your 3500 diesel dually will probably never need to tow 23000 lbs just like a toyota pickup will never need to drive in 3 to 4 feet of water. But if need be, they will do it over and over again. Get it? Same family, different genus.
ive taken machines into similar situations and they end up ruined, wheel bearings etc. My point is, why intentionally take your machine into this crap to begin with if you don't have to? Yes, I understand it's supposed to be 'fun' to play with the truck but when the repair bills come due it becomes a different story. Oh of course, if you have a lot of money and the truck is just a toy that you don't have to depend on, sure, wreck it to your hearts desire, fix it at your leisure!
@radix7508 wow you really dont know shit about a yota, do you? first of all, these things are built to do that. thats why every shithole country on the planet has em. didnt see or hear anything break or smoke. second, even if he did break something on it, theyre OEM parts are really cheap and the best stuff made.
@ScRoTe1992 pfft you buy a jeep and save the yotas for us guys that want haul some shit and then go offroad with 33's out the box and not have to limit our uptravel or whatever you jeep guys do.....
i love yotas....i was leading on a trail in my stock 82 (without a front driveshaft) and my buddy in his bronco with 6" lift on 36's got stuck in a 3 foot water whole that i made it through...then i had to pull him out....only in a yota...nice video
Looks like Washington state.... Tahuya ORV area right? :) That little pond has some deep spots in er, my buddy sucked some water there and snapped a rod in his Taco about a year ago lol
it never would have even stoped if it was locked up proud owner of a 1985 extra cab toy 4in lift 33 built 22r and locked the fuck up toys are in my opinnon some of the most capable trucks
@littlefoot7569 the 22r is nothing to play around with in a Yota. I have an 86 with the 22r and my truck can go more places than anyone at my school can go.
Got a 93 Yota 3.0L V6, I love it like its a child. Got 4in suspension on it and runnin 33x12.50 pro comp all terrains. Gonna get a 3in body on it soon. You runnin in H4 or L4 in that hole?
