@BeulahLips Then what happened? In your disgusting slavish way, you compare the Republican party in the the 19th century, with the Republican party in the 20th century. What's the symmetry? Men and Women define America. Not party affiliation. Men and Women defined this country. Slap monkeys like Beulah choose to divide us. I'm right here little man. Beulah?
@BeulahLips MLK SR was a Republican. MLK JR was a Democrat, despite disagreements with the party. He was really a Left libertarian.
Blacks were overwhelmingly Republican until FDR came to office, promised programs to help the poor and convinced many that the GOP had not worked hard enough for their interests. It remains true though that the GOP never actively supported racism like Democrats did. President Wilson was extremely racist, and Coolidge a great supporter of racial equality
I agree that it shows greater strength to be nonviolent, because it's much easier to follow the rush of anger than to keeping yourself cool and collected.
@YoungDaVinci91 Tell that to Africans of the Congo and South Africa. Non violence when it come to freedom and righting injustice done to you will never be accomplished. Western white civilization has and continues over the past 600yrs to present day to act out with violence towards people and countries who do not do what its wants.
@arronnov I completely understand, but don't you wish that people could gain whatever they wanted through words? It's actually possible, but it takes longer.
@Young Da Vinci 91 Ask the native of the America who's numbers are down to about below 90% pre contact with whites. Ask the people of Tasmania! I forgot you can't ask them anything the British killed every last one of them.As black man and a studier of history and on going present day history. The only thing that western white civilization only understand is violence because it will not stop killing and taking from other people across this planet by any means necessary.
@Young Da Vinci 91 If black people keep waiting around to appeal to the moral conscious of western white power we will not be around in high numbers or near extinction just like native Americans people of Tasmania and other groups and cultures who have been slaughter by the west the past 600yrs til present.

What a wonderful man.......i'm a 25 year old white male, and I look up to Dr. King sooooo much..........he got his Truth and Knowledge straight from the mind of God in the scriptures of the Bible........it is amazing what God's truth can accomplish
King is right. If applied effectively, in some instances love has a transforming quality.
If one demonstrates hatred through violent reaction he or she will only do more harm than good. Violence only produces riots and makes the situation more difficult to deal with.
The only problem with nonviolence--though I practice it--is a hypothetical one. The Third Reich would have taken Martin Luther King Jr and thrown him in a cell so deep no one would know who he was.
@hopkins4545 That is why we need to all aspire to be like MLK. Why can't we? It's just a choice we have to make. And confront the bigotry before it gets that bad.
I am a 13 year old student doing a project on Ghandi where it requires a thesis statement on how hw influenced many other people in his non violent resistance. Im amazed at the courage of these people and also that this courage cann't be found anywhere else today : Nonviolent courage as well as the courage to stand up for what is right. I try my hardest to stand up for what it right, but looking at these people i cannot even come close to that true meaning ... thank you for this video. !
keep those thoughts in you mind, read great people like gandhi, Dr. King, and you have a lot of time, experiments with those truth(as Gandhi did), one day you will demonstrate the non violent courage to the world, as world stilll need them very badly..... i admire your effort and i wish you all the best..world as lots of hope on people like u who spend their valuable time doing such inspirational studies rather wasting their precious youthfulness after worldly pleasures...
unfortunately the world is more in awe of murderers like Che Guevara that REAL heroes like Gandhi and Martin Luther King. Every terrorist attack in the world today is influenced by Che Guevara.
@SgtPeperz he murdered hundreds of innocent people with his firing squads after he took over cuba including a 14 year old boy. what's the difference. He once said he'd love to bomb new york. YOU get your facts right,
@atrueirishman haha you've been watching too many youtube videos. By any chance did you get that information from a Glenn Beck special? Che Guevara set up a tribunal after the revolution, to persecute war criminals from Batista's army. All the executions are documented, and i know what quote you are referring to. If you do your research that quote has not been verified or found documented. It actually has not appeared anywhere before 2005, and as you know Che died in 1968.
@atrueirishman Innocent? These "innocent" people were responsible for the torture and murder of 1000s of Cuban citizens...Batista and his henchmen were monsters and animals... and Che...NEVER "took over" Cuba... get YOUR facts right....that having been said...this is a video about Martin Luther King...let's stick to honoring him...
@atrueirishman When I say 'took over' I mean he replaced one repressive fascist regieme with another repressive fascist regieme. How can you honour a peacemaker here while glorifying a terrorist like Che??

MLK was a REPUBLICAN!
It was the DEMOCRATS who tried to smear and kill him!
Just google this: "was MLK a republican"
Man, black folks today have been royally tricked and ripped off!
Republicans started and fought for ALL civil rights reforms for 100 YEARS before, and up to, MLK!!
MLK would be pissed today if he could see what the democrats have done and taken credit for.... yes.. somebody HAS told a lie today... the democrats!
