@BeulahLips MLK SR was a Republican. MLK JR was a Democrat, despite disagreements with the party. He was really a Left libertarian.

Blacks were overwhelmingly Republican until FDR came to office, promised programs to help the poor and convinced many that the GOP had not worked hard enough for their interests. It remains true though that the GOP never actively supported racism like Democrats did. President Wilson was extremely racist, and Coolidge a great supporter of racial equality

King is right. If applied effectively, in some instances love has a transforming quality.

If one demonstrates hatred through violent reaction he or she will only do more harm than good. Violence only produces riots and makes the situation more difficult to deal with.

The only problem with nonviolence--though I practice it--is a hypothetical one. The Third Reich would have taken Martin Luther King Jr and thrown him in a cell so deep no one would know who he was.

I am a 13 year old student doing a project on Ghandi where it requires a thesis statement on how hw influenced many other people in his non violent resistance. Im amazed at the courage of these people and also that this courage cann't be found anywhere else today : Nonviolent courage as well as the courage to stand up for what is right. I try my hardest to stand up for what it right, but looking at these people i cannot even come close to that true meaning ... thank you for this video. !

keep those thoughts in you mind, read great people like gandhi, Dr. King, and you have a lot of time, experiments with those truth(as Gandhi did), one day you will demonstrate the non violent courage to the world, as world stilll need them very badly..... i admire your effort and i wish you all the best..world as lots of hope on people like u who spend their valuable time doing such inspirational studies rather wasting their precious youthfulness after worldly pleasures...

unfortunately the world is more in awe of murderers like Che Guevara that REAL heroes like Gandhi and Martin Luther King. Every terrorist attack in the world today is influenced by Che Guevara.

@atrueirishman haha you've been watching too many youtube videos. By any chance did you get that information from a Glenn Beck special? Che Guevara set up a tribunal after the revolution, to persecute war criminals from Batista's army. All the executions are documented, and i know what quote you are referring to. If you do your research that quote has not been verified or found documented. It actually has not appeared anywhere before 2005, and as you know Che died in 1968.
