  • This is more worthy of a Keystone cops movie than the US Navy. I'll bet this was peacetime since if CINCPACFLT saw it, they all would be court martialed.

  • Thanks for posting this...I saw it as a 16mm film in the ready room while aboard Hanna in 1969.

  • Outstanding! Long live Naval Air.

  • What a spoof!

  • @Brasstacks11

I never thought I'd see this again! I lent my VHS copy to a friend who never returned it. The picture quality is really degraded from the original, which my Dad filmed with his 16 mm movie camera on a Westpac cruise on the USS Hancock (CVA 19) in 1955. Sam Shapiro is a spoof name--Dad's "nom de filme!"

  • do you think Sam Shapiro had anything to do with this film? lmao.

  • You can get this on a DVD entitled "OFF LIMITS! Films the Military Doesn't Want You to See" from Periscope Film.

  • I guess the Navy could only get away with this in the 1950s! Funny stuff!

  • I saw this video on board the "Hanna" ,USS Hancock CV19 in the spring of 1975 on a westpac cruise. Thanks for sharing.

  • We saw this at TBS (Quantico) then spent 18 months elsewhere before arriving at P'cola for flight training. BIG THANK YOU PObermanns for getting this to the world.

Navy Air/Marine Air spooling up and landing hard!

  • I last saw this well over 30 years ago in flight school in Pensacola. It's even funnier now!

  • That's just the greatest. Fly NAVY!

  • You're most welcome! I just wish that my original VHS copy was better.

  • A TRUE classic of Naval Aviation! Thank you for posting it!
