@madcatsden You have to remember not every person who is playing PC games has the most up to date computers and alot can't afford to upgrade their pc. Which is one of the reasons why WoW is a huge success. It had lower graphical art style that was playable to a wider audience. TOR is different because while the polygons are lower like wow, the detail they put into the graphics blows WoW out of the water. Look at the most recent gaming build it looks far better than this one

@jocke706 People complain because the KotOR games are awesome (even the much-maligned TSL), and TSL left a lot of unanswered questions that practically beg for a third installment. I don't know how TOR will turn out, but judging from what I've seen/read, the word that comes to mind is "mediocre," and a good s-player RPG is better than a mediocre MMO.

I realize graphics/animations aren't everything, but having the characters look like they're being jerked around like marionettes isn't going to help anything.

The fee hasn't been announced, they're still talking about it. But back in e3 2009 they said it was going to be free 2 play. I've read on the swtor forums and it's only users that are trying to put up a poll together on how they would like the game to be.

@oddcatalyst That's on the list of things Evil Overlords should never do. Still, look at the shield generators; they're BIGGER than the shield they generate, therefore they have to be outside. Still, it would make sense to put them somewhere the heroes can't get to them. Such as, say, stuck to the ceiling of this MASSIVE room?

@TheMCBADGER It's actually pretty logical. It requires less wiring and equipment to feed the energy to the shield location, making it more compact and a smaller target. Ulgo's men can more easily defend a smaller space, and if his men weren't silly red-shirted gooks, they'd do a good job of it - hosing the chamber with area of effect weapons (Like rocket launchers! Use the fucking rocket laun-) while their leader is protected from blast effects by the field.

@oddcatalyst That's on the list of things Evil Overlords should never do. Still, look at the shield generators; they're BIGGER than the shield they generate, therefore they have to be outside. Still, it would make sense to put them somewhere the heroes can't get to them. Such as, say, stuck to the ceiling of this MASSIVE room?

@dessan18 Some people like "hard core" basis where devotion and repetition is the point of the game, and that is fine, however many,including me, like the cut scenes and story as the main focus, even if it's repeated. That's the audience this game is going for. If you don't like it that's fine, WoW and other MMOs aren't going away any time soon.

Im excited about this! ive seen alot of WoW diehards saying it looks bad, well, i guess nothing can campare to the constant fetch questing where your character accomplishes nothing significant whatsover like in WoW is MUCH more fun then this.

@leveille1 you don't get it. MMO's must not have an oversaturation of story. You know what's the most annoying thing when you get back to an instance to farm it? The scripted events. They do nothing but slow everything down and they are boring once you've seen them all. In a single player game it's ok, but if the gameplay is not there, then you're not wanna come back to play it. You're better off "youtubeing" out the whole cutscenes

@Sajgoniarz There isn't a machine in the world right now that can play a MMO with top of the line graphics. If so then it's probably a bad MMO that is over saturated with instanced areas. You want a massive RPG with massive open and very immersive worlds? You pay for it with graphics. Give it ten years tho.

@TheMCBADGER It's actually pretty logical. It requires less wiring and equipment to feed the energy to the shield location, making it more compact and a smaller target. Ulgo's men can more easily defend a smaller space, and if his men weren't silly red-shirted gooks, they'd do a good job of it - hosing the chamber with area of effect weapons (Like rocket launchers! Use the fucking rocket laun-) while their leader is protected from blast effects by the field.

@ShuffinFrex i can think of 2 reasons off the top of my head. 1) star wars already came out with an mmo if you remember how bad galaxies was and 2) the reason people hate that there's no kotor 3 is that lucasarts basically just said 'well you know those 2 characters who you got to love in those games. they're dead. and we're not even telling you how they died. here's a new game 300 years later that you'll have to play for monthly.'

@ShuffinFrex i wasn't saying what i believed, i was saying why i think other people hate it so much (though i don't understand why they can't make both tor and kotor 3). yes they will tell us what happened to revan but we won't actually be able to see him again. a bit disappointing. i am very glad they are making this a story based mmo, not just one where you run around killing the other side. this game has a lot of potential in my eyes and im looking forward to it. not sure about others.
