  • Very nice phono! I love the startup sound of the motor.

  • Great design! So clean and the box!! What a find!!!

  • I also have the Crew Cuts version "Angels in the Sky" on 78. Never heard the Peter Pan version before.

  • Amazing condition on this one!

  • @fortyfiveplayer THANX!

  • Gorgeous!! You never see this player without a big scratch from the platter to the arm resting area. So beautiful. This is a player I have on my want list. Has all the bells and whistles. Beauty, quality and RCA!! Thanks so much for showing the box! Wow!! Super Post!

  • @RaymondTVinyl This IS a very nice player. I got this last week in a collection purchase of about 25 players. It's hard to find anything that still has an original box and that's what very well kept it in the condx it's in. I think I have another in my garage & when the garage is gone through in the Spring, I'll keep you first in my mind if you're still interested.

  • What a cool player! And to think this format would become almost obsolete a few years after this player was made.

  • @toasteroven427 78's are great pieces of history but rightfully passed because you couldn't put as much recorded material on the platter. There's no doubt a correctly recorded & played 78 can sound quite nice. Unfortunately, many a good 78's were destroyed playing them on old wind-up phonos with heavy "vinyl plows". The good news is that rare 78 recordings can still be saved & cleaned up digitally on CD. Though you lose the character, you've preserved the music.

I agree, I have a near-mint copy of the Crew Cuts' "Sh-Boom" and it sounds beautiful when played. I've never played them on my wind-up Victrola, and don't often stack them on the turntable for playing. But that's one of the reasons they died out: too fragile, couldn't fit more than a couple minutes of music on a record, too heavy, etc. There's just so many more benefits to 45s than 78s.

  • Handsome attachment! Original turntable "covering"? Bakelite is extremely nice!

  • @calvertsch ALL original w/the exception of the crystal cartridge - long since dried up. They rarely show up today in this condx. I was fortunate to receive this in a recent collection purchase of several (about 25) players. Some of those will be up on YT as I find the time to restore. Watch fo 'em!

  • Looks like there's enough room to play a 12 inch record.

Speaking of Peter Pan records: I understand that some company called Inspire now has the recordings in their vaults. That was over 20 years ago when the got them and they've done nothing to them. It sounds like something needs to be done about this.

  • @ThisGuyFrritz While I haven't ried it, I believe there's enough room for a 12" 78 on this attachment too.

  • Beautiful player! I've seen these before on eBay, but not in this condition. I believe having the original box & instructions manual makes it a bit more valuable. That "Angels in the Sky" record was very nice as well. It sounds as if this type of stuff may have influenced Elvis. The Art Carney record was great! I have a few Jackie Gleason music vinyl LPs from the late 50's that I'll be posting.

  • @TwinMillMC Thanx, I like the Art Carney record too! I have a few 45's featuring Jackie Gleason in my collection too.

  • A really attractive player - very nice design and super shiny like the last one! I love the pop up arm, and like all your players, it sounds superb.

Two very different but enjoyable records too!

  • @pyestudiocolour Thanx! I have a few 78's around but I'm not a 78 record collector. The 7" 78 was given to me this past week by a friend and record collector that USED to live across the street from me (YouTube "musicalcliff"). He got tired of the snow & moved to Florida this past summer. I miss him! He was a wealth of information to me.
