This is a terrible recording--I just saw them live at the House of Blues in Chicago, and they (especially Annette) sounded fantastic on both new and old songs.
Tarja was good, but I never thought she was very good live--Annette is a much better performer--she brings a lot of energy to the stage, and it looks like she actually enjoys being up there. She also sounds a lot better live than Tarja ever did.

When I saw Anette LIVE in Chicago (Yes, I was physically there), she was awesome. When I saw Tarja live, she was decent, but nowhere near as good as Anette. Anette is a showman who enjoys being up on stage with the band.
Well done Nightwish, admittedly Annette does sound quite good on some of the "new stuff" but when you are playing live you have lost all of your back catalogue of songs, nice one boys!!!
it sounds to me like this venue they played just has very bad sound..i mean..even the band sounds bad, and we all know they play great live..as far as annette's singing..touring will do that to you. Tarja has had her share of bad nights as well. it's also not fair to compare annette to tarja, being she is not an opera singer.

It's pretty good. Annete takes all the old nightwish songs and makes them her own at the moment of singing them. She's not mtrying to be like Tarja... But I guess that's what the "Tarja fanboys" wanted... someone who tried to be like their "precious" Tarja... meh
At first I was kind of worried about how she would sound with the older Nightwish songs, because Tarja and Anette just have major differences in their voices. However, after listening to a few live clips of Anette, (even though the quality is awful) I'm quite content. No, the songs don't sound the same and they do sound a little odd without Tarja, but that doesn't change the fact that Anette has an extremely good voice and is able to pull off the songs well.
is it only me that likes both Tarja AND Anette?? They are both very good singers, very sad that Tarja had to quit, but Anette is good too. Nightwish are changed, yes, no doubt, but I don't think that's in a bad way either... they have just reached a new unknown level for them...

It's pretty good. Annete takes all the old nightwish songs and makes them her own at the moment of singing them. She's not mtrying to be like Tarja... But I guess that's what the "Tarja fanboys" wanted... someone who tried to be like their "precious" Tarja... meh

At first I was kind of worried about how she would sound with the older Nightwish songs, because Tarja and Anette just have major differences in their voices. However, after listening to a few live clips of Anette, (even though the quality is awful) I'm quite content. No, the songs don't sound the same and they do sound a little odd without Tarja, but that doesn't change the fact that Anette has an extremely good voice and is able to pull off the songs well.

is it only me that likes both Tarja AND Anette?? They are both very good singers, very sad that Tarja had to quit, but Anette is good too. Nightwish are changed, yes, no doubt, but I don't think that's in a bad way either... they have just reached a new unknown level for them...
The music is still absolutley amazing!! Tuomas is still the best composer!

I like this. I love Anette. If you don't like her, just leave her alone and listen to the old Nightwish. Tarja is always there, you know? Guys have choose Anette so she will be in Nightwish for some time now. I hope she'll be there till the end. She is great singer and so nice person. I really understand why Tuomas and guys choose her.

She's good.
It's really difficult to reach Tarja's level 'cause she's amazing. It's really different of the original song, but it's not bad. If I hadn't listened to this song before (Tarja's version), I'd surely fall in love a hundred times for this.

I actually liked the 2005 non-opera version better, but THAT is just murder. Overall I like Annette, but not on that song. Of course the awful quality doesn't help, I can't really judge 'til I actually see them.

Because if Anette said the truth, that she had experience, well I really cant see where is this experience. This is not her first album, maybe with a famous band yes, but not her first one and not her first live presentation. And as I said, some songs are just not for commoun voices. Because it will be a total disaster like this.
