I like their songs, but how many times are they going to rip-off Wes Anderson's visual style for their videos w/out giving him credit? I figured "16 military wives" was an obvious Rushmore homage, but they do the Wes thing again in this one. I don't know, do they ever mention him in interviews as an influence? If not, they really should. It's obvious.

@TheModernPost I suppose. I don't know. I just feel like Wes Anderson isn't necessarily a household name. A lot of people, especially younger people, might be digging the Decemeberists style, and have no idea where that style came from. If you do a parody of something like Goodfellas, everyone would get it. But these Anderson visuals, not most people would know where it's coming from.

You see in the full video it explains that she stole her "daddy"s money and was using colin to get out of the country (notice he takes the blue bag?) he then has to execute her for what she's done. She also never loved colin and it ends with him dying as well as killing the guy who gave him they keys (because the guy betrayed him but also saved him and had the girl killed).
