dude nice loco, bu ton listening to it, it sounds like you have a bit blow past on 1 of the cylinders, can be heard particularly at low speed, i have an atlantic that had same problem & once found if its in the bores or cylinders it can be easily fixed by filling the whole with soft solder & smoothing out with wet & dry paper, on other hand it may be a valve that not perfectly flat or is scored etc which can also easy be fixed by rubbing in the valve faces
It sounds very nice, I hope our club's Tich has a good whistle, we won't know until it gets a new burner, it is propane fired, converted from a coal burner it came with a riding car and 3 other cars, it is unpainted, but it still looks good, I suggested we paint it in LNER green, it will be a lot of work but it will soon be operating, and I will probably be spending the most time on it.
No! Actually, that's the worst part about small scale! If you plan to run at a club with elevated tracks, don't, If they fall, there goes all the modeling and detailing down the drain!!! I strongly suggest that you don't run 3.5" gauge unless you are a very tolerate, skilled, and patient person who knows all the ins and outs of steam running and machining. But seriously, this scale is a scale that requires a lot of devotion and tollerancy.
Finally a vid of u and ur lco on ur profile. Nice i like it. Small for what im used to. That probs weighs 100kg. The things im used to drivin weight bout half a tonne. Nice to speak to you again.
Thanks Brandon!!! I also added a new turret too. It's some times difficult not to slip the drivers on little engines, but after a couple days at the track, I got used to it. Thanks for the great comments Brandon!!!

@david197407 thanks man! She is upwards of 70 years old. yes the valve settings are a little off.. well spotted!
At first the ports didnt even match until my dad machined the valves to match them. I have a lot of projects now but I will fix that someday:)

Where is the water injector at. Is it the valve next to the water glass?
foxrivermotorman 2 years ago
Hi, This loco doesn't yet have an injector, but I have one, and will install it in due course.
chappybolo 2 years ago
How do you feed water into the boiler then if I might ask. I been around live steamer before but never operated one to know
foxrivermotorman 2 years ago
An axel-driven pump and hand pump. In this scale, they are the most dependable water feed systems.
chappybolo 2 years ago
Do you get a lot of cleankers in you firebed? Cool locomotive
foxrivermotorman 2 years ago
No actually, I burn welsh coal, so It's pretty clean.

Hey what whistle is on this engine, I like it, and I think it would soung perfect on my club's 1.5" scale LBSC Tich
trainboy94 2 years ago
Thanks - It's of my own design and making. A dual chime 4" long 5/8" diameter brass job.

Any chance of a video of her running?
EastwoodBirds 1 month ago
@EastwoodBirds she needs a few fittings as I am waiting for the injector from Superscale, I think I'll have a video in a month or so

OK, but I was really thinking I could make a 7.5" electric, and if I want to run steam I can get a 3.5" scale.
trainboy94 2 years ago
Well, It's a nice scale really, but 1.6" is what I'm heading for.
chappybolo 2 years ago
How good of a scale is 3/4"??????
trainboy94 2 years ago
It depends on your own preference. I personally like it, however I would like to size up eventually.
chappybolo 2 years ago
I was thinking it would be more fun because most 3.5" tracks are elevated.

Thanks Steve, Your loco looks great.
Yes, I've painted her a year ago, It's looking better and bettter
chappybolo 2 years ago
Hi....nice work you have done on your Maisie and i see you have painted it now ....keep up the good work ;-)

That loco looks like a basset lowke atlantic based on a british prototype

Well it is a British prototype, but it's plans were scale down by L.B.S.C. Thanks for commenting.
