  • I don't give a fuck what nobody says, this is by far the best version of this song! Better than the Stones if you ask me.

  • Great song, and great white stripe´s sound !!!

  • There are only two things I dislike about this song;

It ends, and it can't be turned up loud enough.

  • I thought that said you could "jack white" 3 days straight..wow.

  • Just found like 5 White Stripes songs that I've never heard. See you later, sleep.

  • This is an awesome version of this song, but i think robert johnson would roll over in his grave if he could hear this

  • @LedHead747 I'm sure he'd be delighted that people are playing his music almost 100 years down the line.

  • @LedHead747 I'm sure Robert Johnson would totally get The White Stripes, stripped back, powerful music.. just like his.

  • i am 60000!

  • PUHRE BLUZE

  • Hey, thank you very much for this :)

  • Listen to the BBC LIVE version... so good.

  • The White Stripes need more breaking down and less breaking up...

  • i love how it sounds like there performing live. i <3 the white stripes

  • why did the stripes break up we need one last album............well possibly 100 more

  • i could listen to jack white till i die and nothing else.

    (probably will)

  • Very underrated album.

  • A great cover.

  • this is an awesome rolling stones cover this is a lot more fun than the original

  • @DaffyDevil777 this isn't a Stones cover. The Stones covered Robert Johnson.

  • @DaffyDevil777 Rolling stones cover??......really

    dig deeper boy!!!

  • @DaffyDevil777 so funny-jack white is deep into the delta blues-this is robert johnson-if you really like white stripes, you should start diggin into son house, rev.gary davis,r.johnson, blind willie johnson and other blues musicians.i think that's one of the reasons they are covering them-to expand the knowledge of people who otherwise would not bother to hear old blues.

  • @bracaiks

people are allowed to listen to the music whatever the fuck they want

  • @iwytfmahayc in which sentence did i imply that they are not?

  • @bracaiks

    excuse my schizophrenia

  • @iwytfmahayc :)

  • @bracaiks :P :/

  • @iwytfmahayc People can listen to whatever music they want; but if they love Jack White and the White Stripes, bracaiks gave an excellent list of other artists they might want to hear.

  • Why listen to Radio when you have an ipod filled with white stripes.

  • the only reason this even worked out is because the original is so good this is a terrible version.

  • R.I.P. Robert Johnson (1911-1938) ; the legend , writer, and original performer of this song.

  • one of there best songs....my favorite

  • Just wanna let every one know...this song is not written by the White Strips, its was rote in the 30's by a blues guitar legend named Robert Johnson. The original recording is waay better, listen to it if you really like blues :)

  • as long as it brings mr johnson's music to new audiences is all that counts

  • @nima12312 well this is good too though.

  • if the white stripes were around in any other decade than the 00's or maybe the 90's, they'd be huge! since jack white is such a versatile badass, i'm sure he could tweak their sound to fit with popular trends in music, however he doesn't. thats why i love his stuff

  • I love the feedback at the end of song.

  • I'm a old skoolraver of 28 and a fan of

multiple Genre Music what the hell hashappened too me?

Me never being one to listen

to any form of Rock Music i heard a couple of early tracks since i cant seem too stop

Listening to the 1999 Album and

a select few tracks off later albums

How Raw is their style of music! Iive been missing out with Tracks like this and others.

Anybody that could capture Myself and convert me to Rock must have some damn good skills.

    Loving the none mainstream

    stuff. .

  • whenever i try to get my friends to listen to the stripes, they completely ignore their unique and amazing sound. apparently it's too "weird" for them, but in my opinion, the white stripes are not weird, they're just something that isn't around much these days, ie, actual good music?

  • @joniJEALOUSY yea i hear ya man but no worries musics about to make a big 180 trust me

  • @joniJEALOUSY lucky. most of my friends listen to fusion, gospel, metal ( really good metal at that ) and jazz. when i show them the stripes they say its not weird enough for em lol

  • ... Salstar knows what she's talking about.

  • ahhhhhhhhhhh my one true love!!! i thank god for these 2 every day. i really really really do.

  • this is a interesting take on the 1937 robert johnson original. many people have covered Stop Breakin down over the years, but I have never heard it played any thing like this. I'm not sure I like it or not, but at least the white stripes have brought the song into the 2000's, for a new generation to enjoy

  • dude... that's like the NUMBER ONE REASON all people should love the White Stripes... They are SINGLE HANDEDLY ENSURING THE SURVIVAL OF THE BLUES IN OUR GENERATION.

This alone is enough for people in the know to be like WTF ILU

  • you are so right! :}

my generation is ignorant of blues and take good music for granted or simply disregard it! it's quite sad. the white stripes are too often overlooked or underated! they deserve a lot more attention and credit than they currently are bestowed!

  • YES completely agree.

  • agreeed :)

  • Well it's more a garage sound than a 2000's ^^

  • there should be more "HUH!"s like at 0:22 on the new albums :)

  • i could listen to jack white 3 days strait

    (probebly have)

  • @funklepuff i listen to him every day

  • @funklepuff try 3 months straight since I discovered this album.

  • @funklepuff Amen.

  • @funklepuff i know i have, i've even gone weeks at a time

  • @funklepuff lol dude i found jack white about a week ago and thats all ive been listening to since then

  • @funklepuff i listened to nothing but the white stripes and jack white from august 2nd to november 29th. yeah.

  • @funklepuff 3 days ha-ha i listen to them once for 2 weeks nonstop no lie best Christmas break i ever had

  • Oh get off it!

    Stones?

    You don't know shit.

  • I'ts not even a stones tune

  • wrecking the stones' version..

  • the stones didn't write this song

  • wow only two words can explain that.

    freaking amazing.

  • Live is better:

The White Stripes - Stop Breaking Down (Live on BBC Radio 1)

  • White stripes kick the shit out of all that gucci mane rap shit

  • hell yea nigga! White Stripes got soul and feeling in their music.

  • bijubily is right

  • this rendition rocks, stop breaking down!

  • This is the type of stuff they need to play on the radio! But no, were stuck with the same shity, no talent top forty!

  • @92bjubilee Just heard this on 100.7 here in AZ they have a blues hour somedays. They played a bunch of robert johnson stuff last night.

  • @wafflesandbeer on the blues hour? I was listening to that too dude and I'm in the state of Washington. I didn't get a chance to hear the bluesy stuff from the stripes on that show. Did they have anything new?

  • @juegas Nah this was the only song I heard by the Stripes. They played a couple Chris Thomas King stuff and then a couple old RJ recordings. Thats what I heard before I got home.

  • I've been listening to this song for years, that guitar solo still gets me going. I honestly think it's one of the best ever.

  • Fucking amazing!!

  • just wen I though music was Dead.

  • lol this is like 8 years old though

  • So...it...is... Life support?,maybe???regardless JACK WHITE rocks the hell out of this song, plus you know what "it might be old, but it's new to me". also, stripers tell me they really like me because I'm nice!!(some times is best to live man and his delusions alone.)

  • ok i was just letting u kno. just get into the white stripes? i love em

  • this song is by Robert Johnson, it's 70 years old...also music is not dead, don't listen to the radio/tv...

  • nice 1 whitEstripEdElephant love this 1

  • mafiachild this album is one of the best

  • for all you skaters out ther

chris pullmans section in day in the city 1

    great vid great song

  • that part is excellent, the whole reason i went searching for this song. pullmans is retiring this year. booo

  • Saw the Stripes open for the Stones on October 16, 2002 and have been a huge fan ever since. Great cover!

  • fucking good shit!

  • @ TheManRedd

If you consider yourself a White Stripes fan then why are you marring the comments section here with all this profanity?

And leave klauszik alone, he's entitled to his opinion.

  • peace for everyone. black sabbath ftw.

  • listen to the guitar work. Simple yet tasteful. And his voice, his voice is fucking unique. It's not some corporate made bullshit.

  • you are a complete dumb prick

you can't feel that fucking soul this mother fucker has when he plays? well then fuck i feel sorry for you haha

  • Well, lookiung at your favorite videos, this is a compliment for me. This video shows so many things that went bad in popular music, it's saddening.

  • you are a dumbass, I have two zappa videos in my favorites.

  • "so many things went bad to popular music"

wtf? This is "bad" popular music? This is like the greatest "popular music" to have come out in a loooong time. By the way it's garage/blues/punk/(indie?) stuff. it's not just called "popular" music. Have you even listened to the entire white stripes album?

  • Hello my friend,

don't take my answer to heart that much. :)

First, you having two Zappa videos doesn't change my impression when looking at the other videos. But there might be hope. And yes, this is bad popular music, and in my humble opinion most of today*s pop music sadly is. A good starting point for at least semipopmusic would be the john mayer blues trio. If you want, you can talk to me via PM and make sure you watch the videos in my favorites friend. :)

  • oh but my friend, this is only one of my accounts, I have another with 500 favs. I don't like john meyers singing, from the stuff I've heard, which isn't much.

  • White collar conservative flashin' down the street

Pointin' their plastic finger at me, ha !

They're hopin' soon my kind will drop and die but I'm gonna wave my freak flag high, high !

  • jimi hendrix

  • im not looking for no trouble, mister, but

would he approve of your hate?

  • What the hell man. This is off there first album, before jack was even good at guitar. Second album way way way better. Seriously, this was when they were just a garage band. I am sure John Mayer's first songs weren't that great either.

  • When Jack wasn't good at Guitar?

Dude, he was born GREAT at the guitar!

  • Um, no. He was born GREAT.

  • jacks th man at guitar when you consider he only strted playing at 19 and he managed to make so many great songs anyway then i'd say he's the best guitarist i've ever heard but my fav albums whiteblood cells!

  • o wow really? i didn't know that :X huh

  • yep tis true! he originaly was actually an apolsterer,he got into music when he seen 3 clips i think holding the fabric on a couch he was working on and got interested in the symetry of everything, thats why he mentions the number 3 alot in his music and the albums artwork :P

  • I'm sure John Mayer's songs will never be any good.

  • Jack has always been great man! talent is in the genes! i could practice guitar forever.. but i will never be Jack White

  • are you implying that john mayer was or ever will be great??

  • He is a pretty good guitarist, maybe even better then jack, but I still have more respect for jack just for the fact he doesn't sell out.

  • your an idiot... and I am not even one of Jack's fan boys

  • Have you ever seen John Mayer even play the blues? He is an amazing guitarist. I don't even like John Mayer, but there is nothing wrong is saying he is a really good guitarist.

  • I didn't say he was bad.

  • Then why did you say I was an idiot then?

  • Just pointing it out

  • watching john mayer playing the blues means listen to a guy trying to copy the style of hendrix or/and srv. white is for sure not the best guitarist but he has created his own sound.

  • John Mayer is good but I prefer Jack, he's a much better musician and guitarist. That's just my opinion.

  • Your right white`s better.true original.

  • who the f is john mayer?

  • Stop breakin' down, son!

  • great cover...

  • thanks very much for the post whitestripedelephant: well good ty ty ty

  • i can't find this cd in stors! it alsome

  • Well, that´s what happens if you discover the stripes too late :) Ordering on the internet an option (maybe secondhand)?

  • rofl what was the point of commenting that?

Besides any true artist doesn't start making artwork in hopes of becoming rich, a true artists starts making artowork to express themselves. SO I personally thinkany true musician wouldn't give a shit if his music was illegally downloaded, and think and appreaciate the awesomeness of having his artwork listened to and loved.

  • that was in reply to another comment

  • dude, get a grip

  • dude, suck a dick.

  • Dude, fuck you!!!

    This is a great cover!!!

And if you don´t like it, you can kiss my fucking balls!!!

  • Thanks for uploading these song/vids!
