  • Philistines who ask me why I like Prefab Sprout just have to listen to this one

  • My absolute favourite song, moving lyrics and a terrific piece of music. Thanks, Mr McAloon.

  • This music is magic for my soul. I had forgotten just how good Prefab Sprout was. And I just love gospel music

  • Paddy forever......

  • Songs as good as this make me fall in love with the Sprouts all over again :-)

  • I love Gospel music and this is extroadinary. He should spread his Gospel music every where. Everyone needs the Lord Jesus Christ in there life for he spread Love threw out the world. Keep it up and you will be heard. Some will not like this reaction but others would. Like the fruit of the Spirit: Patience, Kindness, love, joy, peace, goodness, gentleness, faithfulness and self control.

  • Romans 5:3 – 5 And not only so, but we glory in tribulations also: knowing that tribulation worketh patience; And patience, experience; and experience, hope; And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us.

  • Well.....I listened to the whole song, and somehow I just didn't get the sense that what he's singing about was evil, fascist, homophobic or had anything to do with "philistine garbage coming from illiterate thugs who never read a book". Not my favorite of Paddy's, but I'll take any of Paddy's songs any day, and continue to avoid the radio if at all possible.

  • @uclrichard "Evil", "garbage", "homophobic", "illiterate thugs", "never read a book in their sad lives"....You sure you're not talking about gangsta rap?

  • @uclrichard ucldick would be more suitable

  • @uclrichard

Don't be a dick...get your head outta your arse.Read what you wrote and take your face for a shit.

  • @uclrichard idiot

  • @uclrichard Sounds like you've read some good ones, Rich.

  • @uclrichard I'd say dissing Gospel Music was pretty close to racism in itself, since we all know where gospel comes from. Maybe you need to look at yourself before calling anything fascist. As for the tedious steve mcqueen claim, Langley Park is a far more mature album lyrically and musically. Your little liiberal sensibilities need to wake up.

  • Paddy is a brilliant lyricist and a true musical artist in the long northern CELTIC sense and tradition of the word.I guess the Beatles,Shack,Jah Wobble belong to this tradition also.Actually Andromeda H did reach a level hardly attained in the 90s and certainly not since Steve Mc Queen.I still regard the Swoon album breakthrough as something utterly different and deeply moving. It was hard to predict then they would get so sweet and still retain an edge but THIS won't change the World for sure.

  • I would give everything I have for the so called 'peace I've never known', even my own life.

  • cracking voice.. but Paddy - lose all that fluff around the face.. you look 103 yrs old !

  • Adoro Paddy. E' un genio e vaffanculo al sistema che non premia la meritocrazia nemmeno in ambito musicale. Le case discografiche e le radio ''cianno da far i sordi'' . Prefab Sprout eccezionali sempre. In ogni album.

  • @laviperagentile I agree.....whatever you said.

  • Music of the highest quality; also, check out 'Ride' and 'I Love Music' from the same album.

  • i'm not alone!

  • I can hear the trumphets I can hear them blow....when I am listening to you Paddy..you are a musical genius...I love you and yr.music

  • @99sco lmao, the song is over 10 years ago or so, i may be wrong though, thiss album wasnt even finished when released its a shame

Paddy is too unwell to have messed about with the production

  • The best album of the year...what an incrediblke talent Paddy...

  • a genius

  • a genius!!!! (post from france)

  • Hey Sprout heads, stop your complaining! U think you've got it bad? Just thank your lucky stars that you're not fans of Durutti Column! The unfortunate truth is that the more talented and less formulaic the bands/musicians are, the less the likelihood of hearing them played on the radio. When was the last time you heard anything off Talk Talk's Spirit of Eden played on the radio? Probably never, I would venture a guess. David Sylvian?, Tom Waits?, Terry Callier? John Cale? Think I make my point!

  • "stratosferica" grazie della grande musica che ci fate ascoltare ciao grandi........

  • why is my terrible brand of music not favoured over other types of terrible music for airplay

  • Everything is beautiful on this CD, ALL Paddy. PURE Paddy!

The only way it could be better is if the rest of the Sprouts joined in on the fun

  • Perfect melody for one of the very best band Rock Pop of all times.

Grande Paddy, Thanks for the music

  • Paddy...you are one of the best....I love this Cd...it's..really really impressive

  • The best one for me....Paddy I love you...

  • It has to be said once more: If there is music in heaven I really hope Paddy is in charge...

  • Pure uplifting magic, business as usual then Paddy. I hope you can continue to inspire and heal through your genius.

  • Lovely song!!! I just knew about this new album a week ago...its incredible that by radio I dont know NOTHING! All the best for Paddy! And thanks to this post! Best wishes from Portugal

  • Paddy saved my life once again :)

  • Incredible song and album. The rest is zero. But where is it played? By which radio? The system is wrong. If they would spread this music, this will be the favourite for many... Who's deciding Radio's playlists? They deserve to go, for good, and be replaced by others. This song and RIDE of Prefab Sprout are the best pop songs of '09 or, to be more precise, of the past few years!

  • the answer: faceless executives and monopolising creeps like Simon Cowell who wish to create a stable of "pop stars ", playing "pop songs " only HE wants us to hear! Elvis Costello in 1978 made the same comments and had his song Radio Radio taken off the play list by Tony Blackburn; in essence the truth hurt, and Blackburn thought he could dictate the playlists on Radio One...so its up to us to continue listening and buying REAL music....Paddy Macaloon is a genius!!

  • What a great song, full of energy and hope!

    Great job Paddy!

  • the song is wonderful and the picture is great !

  • Prefab Sprout for ever

    All the best from Versailles

  • great song.... All the paddy's songs are jewels...

thank you for the beauty....you are one of the last pop genius.....

prefab, I listen to them since 25 years and I will ever

  • I'll be a fan forever, Paddy....

  • please...never die!

  • Can anybody tell me why religious theme is so presente is this album??

  • i suspose because of paddy's catholic upbringing and also most of the songs were written during 92-93 a time when he questioned heavily his own faith in god... you can hear it in songs like 'sound of crying'

  • What an album!

As Sproutnet members will know LCTWWM is fantastic.

Sweet Gospel Music for me is a true gem.

    Paddy must release more!

  • I'm in love with this song! This should be a massive hit.

  • Paddy Mc Aloon: the master of romantic and deep pop songs!!!!!!!!

  • This album is ANOTHER McAloon masterpiece . That's 4 of them now !

  • I was joking

  • whose the old dude?

  • This is Paddy McAloon lead singer of Prefab Sprout.

Why the need to bring age into the equasion though?

  • I want more more more I tell you...

    Paddy is boss.....

  • Best song of the new fantastic album!

If there is music in heaven I really hope that Paddy is the chief executive...

  • I heard this on the radio this evening (in Galway, Ireland) and I love it, absolutely amazing song.

  • @deccurley85 galway is cool - McCambridges forever!

  • Wonderful !!!

    Super album...

    One of the best...

But every album is a must ! Isn't it ?

  • outch! my heart!

  • And I see you like Josh Rouse and Iron & Wine too. Impeccable taste, sir - impeccable.

  • Hurrah! The more publicity, the better! Thanks, Bruce.

    Sublime.

    (Jim - Sproutnet Forum)
