That is a pretty sharp transition from daylight to dark. Mathematically, if the time lapse were of a 6 hour drive, with photos every 6 minutes (compressing 1 photo/second), there would be only 5 photos (5 seconds) from the beginning of sunset to the end of civil twilight, and another 12 seconds from the end of civil twilight to the end of astronomical twilight. Here, it went straight from civil twilight to full darkness (the end of astronomical twilight) in less than a second.
