Okay, I have no problem with kids watching Trek. But advertising it as if it was a new Disney movie seems wrong. Not because of the PG-13 rating of the movie, and the contents. But the whole kiddish rhymes and stuff. Just the style the advertised it seemed disrespectful. Star Trek wasn't made for 9-10 year olds. I don't want it to ever become like that. But what can I say against it seeing as I even watched it since before my brain was able to remember anything.

Why does engineering suddenly have all these pipes and shit? That's not how an advanced engineering room on an advanced starship should look like. Give me the tng main engineering look over that crap anyday. What's up with the retarded inflated hands scene? And when did the hypospray suddenly start hurting people? There's no needle involved, it should be injecting painlessly through the skin. This is just all bullshit.
Why do you angry fanboys keep doing this?! Judging a film before you haven't even seen it: REALLY?! Enoy your boring nerdy trekkie bubble that you can't get out of. I'm watching this movie no matter what this idiotic/delusional geek says.
Why should I just accept this when it doesn't make sense? Just because I'm actually thinking about what I'm seeing doesn't make me idiotic or delusional don't be so narrow minded. Anyway the things I complained about don't matter that much but they still bother me. What's really important is that this movie stays true to what star trek is about, hope for a better future, exploration of humanity and deep character exploration.
@legoman44 And this fanboy can't figure out how and why other Trekkies can simply disregard the concept of the IDIC. Infinite diversity, infinite combination.
Oh shut up, honestly, whine whine whine. This is not a direct scene for scene remake. Nor is it reality. It's a retelling, and reinvention of an old, and out dated TV series. What the hell do you expect?
Who says the original series is oudated? It's a timeless classic show that has a unviersal appeal. And what I expect of the new movie is to stay true to what this franchise is about and who the characters are. I mean come on I'm not asking much, if chris nolan can stay true to the characters of batman and the joker then I expect the same from JJ abrams. There's no excuse for him not to do this.
i'm not sure about that. i heard that the relationship between the characters has changed. you know it used to be spock = logic, mccoy= emotional and kirk = balance. but now i hear that it's spock = logic, kirk = emotional and mccoy = balance and this doesn't make sense to me because i've seen that clip between kirk and mccoy on the shuttle and mccoy seemed more emotional than kirk so how does he now represent balance?
You just called it a classic. That means it was the best of that time. Well that was fucking 50 years ago give or take a few. It's out dated. End of, that isn't up for discussion.
So a few things are a little off. From what I hear from other fan boys its a good take and a good film.
no when things are usually considered classic that suggests that they still have some worth. i mean take for example the episode "city on the edge of forever" a great story that could work in any era. just because you think it is outdated doesn't , as captain picard would say, make it so.
maybe the new movie at it's core will be good like the best of star trek was, i hope so.
So? What was wrong with what I said. What I said was true. There are fans today of the original series who are in their early teens so don't tell me that star trek doesn't have any worth today.
if i do enjoy it then it will be by my own choice i don't need you to tell me what i should like and what i shouldn't like. i know what i like and i know what good quality entertainment is.

TREKKIES 4 LIFE!

this ad makes the film look like an empty, lifeless, cliched kids' cartoon. Which it isn't by the way.
BEST MOVIE IN DECADES!!!

Never said that wouldn't happen. I meant quite the contrary as in Abrams got this one right: especially the characters.

I saw it last night. The fact there were more pipes everywhere make it more realistic than the original series.
The film rocks by the way. So just stop moaning and enjoy it.
