  • If you find it hard to keep up I recommend printing off a blank sheet of music. Then fill in the notes from the video and practice in your own time (plus you have different sheets of music that you can look back on and practice at any time). (:

  • i love these lessons i breezed through the first one and took two days on the second one (a day for each song) learning a piece of the song at a time until i got it down and on my own time i practice what i have learned all the time. this lesson will take me some time but thnk god for the pause button!!!

  • Holly shit i can't keep up

  • free guitar lessons! vitalguitar(dot)com

  • would be nice if you didn't cut all the videos up and actually just uploaded all of it straight theres prob a reason they released it in that order.

  • More free guitar lessons at VitalGuitar(dot)com

  • free guitar lessons! vitalguitar(dot)com

  • dont know how to change cords

  • i keep getting lost in the change of tabs

  • In case anyone is wondering, "In the key of G" is the key signature of the song. The key signature tells you all the flats and sharps in the song. If you know your major keys or scales, you'd know that the sharp sign on the top line of the staff (F) in "Molly Malone" means that all "F"s is play as "F#" unless the music states otherwise.

  • So lost!

  • @ridenrezer

    me too!

bought my guitar yesterday and i cant understand how to play the chords :(

  • @iloveamerica007 yeah me too.I'm like WHHAAAT!!??

  • the reason he keeps losing view's is b/c he's going too fast for a begginer.. begginers need encouragement, along with slow and steady learning... i'm a begginer and i can't keep up with him mainly b/c i can't read the staff but i can read tabs

  • You lost me bro

  • I'm not looking forward to molly... LOL

  • Im glad my guitar only cost £29 from ebay. That way I dont care if I get pissed off and smash it.

  • Hi danfie, Thank you for the videos, I'm nearly at the end of lesson three two weeks after picking up the guitar for the first time. Playing house of the rising sun, albeit without your little extra notes, made me smile a massive smile. Cheers!

  • sorry i just feel u need to do more explaining and talking in this video . tell all the small changes u r including and how to play them. if not this is not helpful

  • ERM FLAT NOTES WTF LONDEN DERRY AIR >:(

  • when he gets to Molly Mallone, what does he mean by "in the key of G"?

  • @hurikai

He means that every "F" note is a sharp.

  • xD the first video has lots of views second has less and this one even less......... lot of people quit after second video

  • Why the first song got backgrounc music

  • hey u r just awesome...sir..can i please know your name???you are the best guitar teacher i have ever seen!!!

  • London Derriere LOL

this guy is so cute he's just so sweet

  • Comment removed

  • its not that the discouraging part is how he's making his sound all pretty by adding the extra beat into it when he's trying to teach he should be ONLY strumming the notes he's taught us not all the fancy ness because when ours doesnt sound the same its upsetting.

  • @lashyon thats why i am having problems following youtube guitar lesson people lol any tips for someone who wants to learn but hard time getting things to click in their brain? -- yes i mean me... i feel so stupid tryin to teach myself but i want to learn again... i have to take baby steps again because i forgot most of the things i have already learned :(

  • @ERLover4Life ME TOO!

  • @ridenrezer u wanna learn again too or u wanna find something thats really really easy?

  • @ERLover4Life Yeah help me out haha

  • @ridenrezer i cant i dont know how to play anymore haha... i dont even have an ear for it...

  • AWESOME. God Bless you always man. Thank you.

  • where is the strings 5 and 6? are they not important?

  • @WoIfProductions they arent used i this video i dont think, and it doens seem he is making more, so i suggest you find another guy like guitarvoicing

  • Hey guys, this video not shows how to use right hand. Could you tell/show some sample video, how to play it, exactly like guy on this video? (can be tabulature)

    Thx:)

  • thanx do much it helped me greatly

  • This Is really helping me. I already have have all the notes memorized on all the strings from 1-4 and I remember where all the notes go on the staff. Thanks so much!!!!!!!

  • This is helping me out a lot.

  • I love your videos! It's been helping me immensely and I just started this week :]

  • do you have more video, like lesson 5, I can't find his lesson 5

  • Thank You So Much, you are an excellent guitar tuitor, I like the way you teach that I can practice efficiently.

  • Loving the videos, this is great for a beginner like me, but I think I missed something? How do you play the F# in Danny Boy? Did I miss the sharps and flats section?

  • @KingBohica f sharp is in between f and g

  • @KingBohica I'm having trouble with the F#, too. Can anyone help us?

  • @nanabuuui F#'s the second fret on the 1st string (the high E), also called Gb.

  • @nanabuuui Or the 4th fret on the D string, actually, in this case.

  • At each Video, the number slowly declines, too many people give up.

  • How does he have background music that is not in the notes? does he play them or adds them later?

  • Lol house of the rising sun :D

  • am a beginer and i like this video am not a fast learner i like making beats and raping about peoples shit lol but i wana play and makes cool music someday plus i can like go on a date a play for a girl great job dude thanks for the vids

  • @ripster532 thanks for all that info lol

  • im falling asleep... my lullaby

  • Would love to have more video's on his style of teaching. danfir Help us with more video or tell us how we can get books and cd's you have done. PLEASE!!!

  • the views keeps going down in nearly a half every lesson lol!!

  • it would be helpful to see all the notes instead of constantly having to go back and forth through the video, is there a link somewhere?

  • OMG I CAN'T BELIEVE IT I'VE FINALLY LEARNED THESE SONGS. xDDD I didn't actually realize what song Londerry Air was until I started the fast version though. XDD

  • i understand it takes practice, pause rewind, etc etc. but the tune playing, doesnt correspond to his guitar, there is music playing behind his tune, and it doesnt help. i'm learning guitar 3 weeks now, and really enjoying it. had i started learning with these videos, i would've given up after day one. i wanna play songs so friends can sing and have the craic on a night in, not to read sheet music and complicate everything

  • WHERE IS THE VIDEO TEACHING YOU HOW TO PLAY STRINGS #5 AND #6?!

  • @nocturnaltrance95 i was going to ask the exact same question!!!!

  • hahahaha I like how everytime there's a new video, there are half as many views. This guy's great. It's just gonna take practice, just like any other instrument

  • ugh im so used to violin its confusing me D: and those backround cohords are confusing me too :/

  • ahaha same

  • @Maddipasto same dam accousitc guitar is like so big compared to the violin lol. cant vebratto for shit.

  • @eXclusive741 yessss lol and the fingering is sorta different so when i do a certain note i always mess it up cuz i keep thinking or violin . ughh

  • Sometimes, when something shows up that he hasn't explained, you could WATCH his fingers, and LISTEN to the sounds made to FIGURE OUT FOR YOURSELF what you need to play.

  • i thought it would be a lot easyer...got to keep practiceing...

  • can i know.. what is the background chord??.. that is not in the video..pls... my song is not perfect without that

  • @MrTomsupertramp185 i totally agree, these lessons are fantastic

  • where is the lessons for the 5th and 6th strings?

  • Uhmmm.... how do you play F#??? I'm Confused x[

  • @iluvpjaske F# is on the first string- the space between F and G

  • My guitar doesn't hold the tone. During practice I have to re-tune several times. Does anyone know why this is happening. I do live in a humid climate, not sure if that's causing it. Perhaps the strings?

  • That final chorus in House of the Rising Sun's fast version took me off guard, but after a few tries, I got it. :)

  • One problem i am having with learning guitar is i dont understand the notes that good, and i have a music assesment in 4 weeks that i need to do.

And i know alot on piano so i think it will be boring if i play the piano,

so i want this as a challenge,

I have an acoustic guitar, but ild like alittle more help please? Hit the message ! x

  • Dude this is actually teaching me to play guitar. Thanx man for posting these.

  • So anyway, this is very nice and helpful for practice, but as it explains little to none (unlike a lesson) maybe the name should be changed. Thanks

  • try this website all guitar lesson here......justin guitar dot com

or this one.....if u want to learn fingerstyle.....lick by neck dot com

  • i know that u didn't satisfied with the last lesson.....u will gonna said that's it........

try this all guitar lesson here......justin guitar dot com...:)

  • how we do sharps D;

    teach us plz :P

  • 2:35

  • thanks

    yeah it's a cool stuff

    all i need is practice

  • thx :)

  • people are so stupid they think they can play this by watching a video !!!!!

  • @RIPhikennoace we r not in middle age my friend. I learned guitar, violin, and piano quite well watching videos.

Some people learn watching, not reading.

  • @carloskimey r........ READING ????????? dude!!!!! that's not what i meant, what i say is: if you want to learn how to play the guitar then you have to practice instead of complaining about the video, that's all

  • @carloskimey now that i read it again, my comment is not very clear lol sorry about that

  • @RIPhikennoace No problem

  • Your right hand please :)?

  • how about the sound between each note????

can someone tell me of the strings being played?

  • Love the you to fast comments. Lol. Um.... pause.....rewind..... maybe ..... replay. These vids can last five mins or five hours.... five days even....and so on! Your in control.

  • ya'll..he didnt explain the #F because there were no F's in the song

  • wats d name of d teacher......?

  • wat is d dot after d note A ..please xplain

  • I am confused..when I play these I sound like I am plinking the piano one key at a time....what are you doing with your picking hand that I am not?

  • @OldFart77messiah

Your either not pressing down on the strings hard enough, or putiing your fingers in the wrong place, remember to put them just behind the fret, not on it

  • ur the best :D

  • This is the best learning the guitar already on lesson 4. Now within 2 days this is better than a teacher

  • where are the notes of the 5th and 6th string??

  • chottE!

  • i didn't learn from these. i learnt from googles. their notes are just like music games so simple. this notes are like piano notes. u don't need that lol , that's why the songs he playing are really old. the new songs notes recently are the ones u can find in google. just type "tabs"

  • this is hard. my fingers are all spastic.

  • now i m gettin nothing....

  • CHRIST! im given up allready!

  • does this lesson work on a flute?

  • hw does he do dis..??

    i dnt got nythng...

  • i think this is aimed at people who know how to play another instrument other then a guitar, but it would be nice if it would say that

  • so far house of the rising sun has been the easiest for me to learn.

  • i think its gd!!

    x

  • People. Playing these songs requires PRACTICE. You are not going to be able to play these songs perfectly the first time you see it, and most likely not the second, third, or fourth time. Just rewind the video and start over. Practice. Eric Clapton didn't get good in 7 minutes (about how long these videos are) and neither will you!

  • @marrenhaneberg If playing guitar was easy, everyone would play it!!!

  • @marrenhaneberg your right were practicing this guy is stupid

  • i got lost at lesson 2

  • your going to fast for me :( :P

  • if only i had a guitar

  • i think we are here for a lesson not to hear music :)

  • @purestr4omar You can't just keep learning new stuff every time. This isnt teaching you any new notes because its allowing you to practice moving between the notes you already have in different ways. Anyone can play a song if they practice it over and over to learn the movements between notes but then as soon as you start a different song your stuck. Try playing instead of just listening.

  • holy shit that is awesome

  • Just chill out about the sharp its for F and that song didnt even have an F

  • if you paid attention in the other two videos then you'd know stop complaining fuck heads

  • dude we dont hav people playing back we full in the silence wonderfully like you, but your vids have helped heaps, thanks!!

  • why is it that i play like..monotone...

its like two strings are plucked at the same time

  • @Jheehfhsx10

The other notes you're hearing form the accompaniment, and is played by another guitar. Your playing should sound "monotone", since you're playing single notes (which is what the sheet music suggests, as well as the instructor's hand).

Occasionally, he doesn't mute a note that had just been played on an open string; in those cases, two notes sound as well.

  • Exactly!! He's just playing like we know what hes doing! If we r watching this is because we don't know how to play guitar

  • if u guys really want to learn write down the notes from the music we learned so far. using the notes of the strings on a piece of paper. than practice it on your own time. if u dont understand music than look for some teaching to read music on Youtube.

  • There's like two parts to this... And you didn't even teach one of the parts. /:

  • wtf!!!! is there 2 guitars playing or what?

  • hes so good its distracting me from trying to play the songs

  • chords for the molly malone D GGG GBGG AAA ACA BAG DCB BAA ADD GGG GBGG AAA ACBA DBF DBF AGA GD GGGG GBG AAAA ACBA DBF DBF AGA G

  • awesome vids man helped me learn how to read some music and learn some chords thanks alot for all the help :) luv the vids.

  • I copy it on a staff,.. now i can play it....

  • @MsMarisam i did tat too...i'm kinda new with this guitar thingy...but it's interesting...

  • @RoseknightMasafumi yes... now, I want to be with my guitar all the time... lol...

  • @MsMarisam haha, same here. i feel like playing my guitar with the new knowledge tat i gained frm this vid...even though it doesnt come out so well

  • @RoseknightMasafumi yeah, I also love this vid.. at first I didnt know the name of each strings... lol

but im good in strumming.... i just dont know the guitar plucking.....

  • @MsMarisam owh...i'm the opposite...i'm gud in plucking, but bad in strumming...i dunno how 2 read the strum notes

  • @RoseknightMasafumi lol.... hope danfie.. make more videos...

  • bad thumb position

  • Dexter fans will recognize the first song !

  • this guy doesn't know how to teach for shit

  • its to fast..i tried to previous it but som e of it i didnt get..... 13 years old and i have my first time guitar..first lesson of guitar.....

  • i dont have long enough fingers

    i'm 12

  • Too fast for me >_<

  • see guitarmanual.typepad.com/blog/ for beginning lessons! or google guitar manual blog and see first result.

  • this is retarded i dont understand it at all

  • @religioninabox I know Im like what the fuck. Look up tabs on a song. Seems much easier to me

  • @religioninabox

If you watched the first two videos, this is to help you get used to identifying the notes on the guitar.

You're not just supposed to do one lesson and go straight to the next, spend a few hours with each lesson.

  • cords anyone?!

  • thxxxx for this video

  • This was rocket science a month ago.

    And now it's cake!!!!!

    W000000t

  • If anyone could tell me what the little symbol is before the notes in londonderry air and what the long line connecting the notes is it'd be much appreciated. Thanks

  • @Tyler70506 The first symbol you come accross is a # whick is known as a sharp. This adds a half step to the note so instead of playing F you will be playing F# or the 4th fret on the D string. The second symbol is called a Tie. It is used when the number of beats desired is more than a measure will allow. In Londonderry Air, there is a whole note connected to a quarter note in the next bar. So you would hold the note for 5 beats. Hope this helps!

  • i've got blisters on mi fingers!!!!

  • wow I'm actually understanding all of this without even touching a guitar.

  • thank god i played violin before i learned guitar =..=

    my fingers are blisterless :D

  • what does a DOT beside the note means?

  • @PingMast 3 beats

  • Hey everybody,

if you stop playing your fingers will never callous and so they will always hurt when you play.

Just stick it out and keep playing trying to feel the music and not the pain.

With in a week or two your finger tips will be rough,

and playing wont hurt at all.

At least that's what all guitarists I know said.

  • @XoXoKELLYmusic you get used to it...=)

  • LMFAO my fingers dont hurt at all, take a break of one week u gonna be fine and i remember all the notes, and play as fast as before :P but u know hot water makes the caluses get hard :P try that if u want :P

  • U don't even explain things anymore. why do I see a sharp or something?? I dont know how to frikin play that

  • @eagleduzt just watch his fingers, you can clearly see that when that note with the sharp comes up he uses his thumb to press on the second fret of the fifth string. Somebody correct me if I'm wrong, but that seems to be the case. Use some other sources along with these videos to learn.

  • @eagleduzt see the other danfie videos -.-

  • @eagleduzt

That sharp at the beginning is used to say that every note that is F in the piece is raised a half-step. However, he didnt explain it cause there were no F notes in the piece

  • Comment removed

  • @eagleduzt There aren't any sharps in Molly Malone, that's just the key signature. And I'm sure it wouldn't hurt to use google.

  • @CometGoat And just move a fret up for sharps.

  • @eagleduzt hey guy, You could rewind the previous lessons to know more about the notes on each string. I think this man does a great job of organising his lessons. Cheers!

  • this is officially the best way to learn guitar. I mean, without having someone teach you in person- as that's much simpler. But I used to have a guitar book that went on string at a time, but I feel like I'm learning more this way. Kudos to this guy :) And to anyone who thinks it's too fast- yeah it is, that's why you get blank sheet music and write down the songs. Should always keep a record of the songs you learn anyhow! :D
