Mariah can sing but she can't touch Whitney and anybody who says otherwise.....well, what can I say: Go get your ears checked. When I took my son to see "The Prince of Egypt" and this song came on to close the movie, you can hear Mariah's sweet voice sing the opening verse....but when Whitney began the second verse....that entire IMAX theater SHOOK with reverberation! They are BOTH great singers but Whitney is/was/is head and shoulders above Mariah.

I want to know (after listening to this song thousands of times over the years) why am I just noticing they did not edit out Whitney's breathing ( they obviously did it to Mariah's part)? It leads me to believe (after listening to Mariah sing live many times) that they fix Mariah's voice a lot... I'm not saying that she can't hit the notes (it's obvious she can)... I just think she can't sing notes in succession that well... it's like she hits a note and they paste the other good times together.

I have RARELY heard Mariah give a good vocal performance of a song... she doesn't sound nearly as good live... I know not everyone is good live but the best voices (my opinion) that I know of have many instances of great vocal (live) performances. Maariah's fans can get on me all they want. I feel the same when Toni Braxton performs. I don't know if what I said makes since (I know nothing much about vocal ability) but I tried to put it into words as best as I could.
