I'd like to compliment you guys on your presentation it was very professional and thoughtful. It's very good advertising. It's made me excited for this.
well you sent I watched and I think theres some great idea's in there to and for the interview parts I thought I was watching the real confidential :p
I'm looking forward to this. Good choice not using the Time War, it's used WAY too much in fan films, even on TV. Ignore the past, focus on the present, just like The Doctor.
Back in the 80s, its obvious that the People didnt watch the Doctor for the Fx. It was the story of traveling through space and time and some very good characters, I had always said that the average person could make an up to par Doctor Who fan film back then. If you have a good story and good characters youll do great. Just as important as lighting make sure you have good sound. If we cant make out the dialog the hole seen turns to crap. Good luck I'll be watching.
Looks good! Nice to see some fan films still doing it with no money, rather than spending loads to make it look good. I always feel that when fanfilms have a huge budget to look really proffesional, they sort of lose the spirit of being a fanfilm. Stripy T-shirts was my idea! I used it for my Time Lord character in my fan-made spin off series!
sounds good. but u do u can do simple cgi which looks good. ur best searching the names Jamie Carrol or/and Billy Treacy. they both do fan-films and they are both great . i just hope u use diffrent editing software than windows movie maker. u just need to be careful as they are some very good 'fan-films' out there already. all with very good established surrondings. and a well established fan base so u really need to be better than good .
Yes you're right. He's both. Because it's only three of us, we're taking on more than the one role next to our name. I'm the Doctor, but I'm also the designer and prop maker :)
I've always liked Dr Who but not so much the recent version as the old original. To date myself, this series first aired the year I was born. It was nearly ten years later, before I first saw it, aired on a USA channel and at about 10 PM when I was supposed to be alseep! So, I laughed when Mr Compton commented on a lack of special FXs in the 80's! What about the 60's?
Mr Gott's description of his interpretation of the Doctor was quite Byronic. I can't wait to see this!
'looking out for where everyone's standing' lol. Not telling them where to stand. Working behind the camera, not directing the filming but making sure everything's set up appropriately.
And the guy is me btw. So yeah, we discussed this between the three of us and the director role is different. Fine line though.

Sounds like a fab series you guys are bringing out!
I think it will be interesting to see an irish Doctor with a bit about his dark side.
You should include alot of funny lines the Doctor could say with the accent.
And try to make the monsters as original as possible...
Well, good luck with the series and I hope to see it in future.

Looks really good! You all seem to have the same idea on what direction you want your series to go down and that can only help with the production.

Isn't the series producer doing what a Director does i.e. making sure everybody stands in the right place?
lukepietnik 2 years ago
If you look at the real Dr Who Confidentials then you'll see that the person doing the same kind of job is titled as the Series Producer.
Basically making sure that the production is as smooth as possible.
tomjackledon1 2 years ago
Yes, but he said that he tells the cast where to stand, and decides what camera angles to use. Is he the Producer and Director, then?
