  • I know the crowd on TOTP was always very staged but they seem to be genuinely enjoy themselves.

  • I saw Linx at the Appollo Manchester in the early 80's and they were fab then . David grant was brilliant and there was only a guitarist who name does escape me (was early 80's after all folks!)

  • David looked like a dork back then.

  • Brings back memories of a girl I would do anything for just to walk past her front door!!!!!!.....Yeap Paula it was you!

  • @marksoutof10

Gee, it must be a "Yankee" term for us, you know, "jam" with multiple meanings. But over herrre, it's slang for a song that's happening. C'mon now, we appreciate all of the exports you've given through music over the decades and we treasure them like gold. So, yes this "cut" or record is still a classic "jam" or song that simply got ignored here in America. Bring back the British bands!!!

  • September 1981, 17 y young, happy dayz.

  • at 0:38 seconds, you can see him pulling out the piece of paper with the lyrics to the song on it.. i can only imagine its quite easy to forget the words ;p

  • ...what in the fuck just happened?

  • this lucky chap is married to the gorgeous carrie grant of the one show

  • memories, memories, memories !!!

  • my fav song ever god i love the 80's

  • funky videos u got there!

  • If anyone has any doubts about the feel good factor of 80's music, then just ask yourself when in the 90's or 00's you saw the top of the pops crowd partying like this lol.

  • BRILLIANT GOOD TIMES

  • In Nederland niet verder dan de tipparade. Onbegrijpelijk!

  • c'est quoi cette merde ?

  • Jazzfunkshizzle hey Mon thanx for this I was in the UK at the height 1980's Cheers

    Mr. Chip's

  • Consider yourself lucky, I am so jealous!! lol

  • Too good for your ears. Love it!

  • Another class tune by David Grant, Sketch & Linx

  • First group I ever saw live (43 now), god, i feel old!

  • ahhhhh david grant!! bet he dies when he sees this!!

  • Why the glasses, hot guy, completely ruined

  • Forgotten Classic - Thanks , many good memories !!!!!!!

  • Whos the drummer,please

  • terry mcdermott

  • Man, some of the jams that you love get left hanging by some of our favorite artist through name changing, reforming of bands and straight up disappearing in Europe or Japan, etc. I still love Junior. =D

  • super cool! i remember thsii!!!

    great

  • haha... wicked!!!! love it!

  • Can you believe this only got to No.15. I am a younger person who never got to experience TOTP during it's glory years. I remember the final painful years with that awful format and the cheesy duo Fearne & Reggie. But i looooooooooooooooooooooooooove Linx they are amazing.

  • Happy days when Top of the Pops was worth watching. It died because the music died.

  • all programing like this died the same fate due to the same reason..all around the world

  • i'm not sure that music died - its still out there , the only problem is the record companies now want short shelf life shit that appeals to 13 year olds - it started with stock aitken waterman ripping us off with their B sides - music comes from the heart - the soul and in alot of cases , working class back grounds where the artists have suffered the hardships of unemployment - i know what your saying though, and yeah its bloody frustrating

  • you are spot on there

  • @maccagrabme Could not have said it better myself. What the FCUK has happened to music???

  • I wasin the Army serving in the Grenadier Guards....reminds me of the Horse and Groom in Guilford...Happy Days!

    Now live in Aus...

  • snorgle1....thats love for you....having someone to take care of you.

  • Hilarious to watch the lead singer now that he's a presenter on CBeebies Carrie and David's Popshop! He looks older in this clip than he does now in 2009! LOL

  • Sounds very similar to Players association's 'turn the music up'

  • Nice jam though it is a sad song...been down that trail many-many-many times.....

  • Smashing ! Takes me back to my hot 80's days !

  • Should've gone to Specsavers!!!!

  • Fantastic mate! very funny - brill!! love it. Made me laugh. BTW I think you're right.

  • @bonobo2go: Should of had laser treatment...;-)

  • @bonobo2go

Yep - definitely having trouble reading the lyrics at the start....

  • OH thanks, i didn't realise people aged, you learn something every day

  • No worries :D Have a good day !

  • Im having a wonderful day, Thanks for asking.

  • Yeah ... I bet there's lots of other things you don't realise now isn't there ? David Grant nowadays doesn't look all that old.

  • Ah yea

  • I believe the lead singer to be Junior on this track - Correct me if I am wrong

  • Nope,....it's actually David Grant. (As in "Fame Academy" David Grant) LOL!

  • Never heard this before. I like it!

  • Easy music! I love it! The guy has good voice, good moving, I know it is a playback(equals with the studio version)but the mood and the feeling is alive and that's enough for me.

  • the full house dance to the funny guy...

  • so the drummer was,nt in the band then??

  • yes it was about september 81. great song and love the lyrics!!

  • part of my 12" vynal collction great tune

  • OMG, forgot all about this song .Loved hearing it again

  • my first fav track ever WOW!!!!!!!!!!

  • I never heard this until I heard this on MP3, beacuse of my curiosity. I like "You're Lying" much better, really. I can tell this was targeted for UK market. I only heard their one and only big hit in the US "You're Lying". I wish there was a clip for "Watching You Watching Me". I love that song!

  • rahuls a fag

  • So this is romance.....yeh-fantastic-brilliant sound

  • Loose Ends? Didn't they do 'Hanging on a string?' Didn't see what all the fuss was about with them. Worked in a themed Chinese restaraunt in London with the ex drummer years ago. He was the chef and a bit of a wanker. Thought he was hardcore.

  • I have this on MP3 and also have the album where this song is taken from on vinyl :)

  • Seriously this can't be David Grant, from fame accademy judgeing fame, no no no. he looks so young now compared to this.

  • Trvwatson ... this was 27 years ago. People do change ! He's now in his early 50s I believe.

  • Well you never mentioned that. Why piss on your own legacy? I suppose he's 'moving forward.' Have you checked out the website him and missus have on vocal training? He's got dreads now. Probably trying to shed the 80's stink off him, the wanker.

  • He ain't getting any younger and he's probably got a mortgage to pay and kids to feed.

He's not burning Jews. What do you want from the guy? Linx re-unions? He's just tring to get by and earn a crust.

  • Can sombody help me dowload this song?.I really like British funk so can sombody help me please.

  • I love this song but where can i find it?.I tried to find it on Limewire but it won't so up

  • you can get it on limewire, but you have to do it on the song title not artist.

  • OOOh I love this! "intuition" is great, too...

  • lmfao simon bates looks so creepy with that plastic hair do....

  • Simon Bates would look creepy even if he was bald.
