  • This is a fantastic film, I saw it for free here: WATCHMOVIES4FREE [DOT] ORG

  • Downright stupid! The government needs to be ripped apart and start again with people from the lower and middle district of australia. Which are the real Australians, the real people who suffer from our government!

  • Jon the 'death of democracy' protest this sunday 27th Sept 09 . join the motorcade or meet at the Domain in Sydney at midday...high noon

  • Well done Not So High. Keep up the fight. All the reasons we live here are under threat and we owe it to our children and grandchildren to ensure the future of Ku-ring-gai is sustained with development appropriate to and in the interests of the community who live here, not others who see Ku-ring-gai as a goldmine to be stripped.

  • How shocking! More people should be watching this to see how absolute power corrupts absolutely.

  • And I thought that Australia was a democracy!

  • Well done Notsohigh in Kur-ring-gai. Of course this is a problem facing all residents of Sydney - whether they know it or not. We have been fighting this kind of over development in the Ryde/Putney area for the last 4 years. For more information check out the video "The End of Affordability" on Youtube.

  • Unfortunately as this is a Liberal safe seat Labour can run roughshod over us.

I dont believe at the next election the NSW public can vote for an Incompetent Government

  • I acn not see why the sheeple out there on polling day would not re-elect this government ...THEY DID LAST TIME

  • 1800 residents spent an awful lot of human person hours preparing submissions on the understanding they will be made public. What disrespect! .

It is quite obvious that Ms Crouch and her Quango did not take one bit of notice of them. This was demonstrated at the meeting which after 3 hrs of submissions the Quango had 5 mins of. delibration.

We need a FOI app to make the submissions public, this is important public information.

(Quango = POWER WITHOUT RESPONSIBILITY:-how can you lose)?

  • A great summary of the 27 May meeting disaster. Elizabeth Crouch was just going though the motions - made no effective response to the many serious flaws that speakers identified in her plans.

But then, she was a key player in CityRail's aborted T-card project. What a recommendation!

Now she's been appointed Chair of RailCorp! Just goes to show how useless the Carr, Iemma and Rees governments have been! She's costing the citizens of Ku-ring-gai - and NSW generally - very dear indeed!

  • The whole thing is a sham. Kristina Keneally and her government could not plan their way out of a wet paper bag. Intersting that they will not commit to metro strategy targets. If the targets for Ku-ring-gai are 10,000 dwellings, and half of that target has already been met...then why do we need this gross over zoning? This is one question they refuse to answer. I was at this meeting and it was a disgrace - the planning panel, State Government and Council should hang their heads in shame.

  • Shame on you the NSW State Labor Party.

  • apparently council has told KRA to remove its community signs! where is the community's right to express itself in public?

  • We need to unite with other groups in Sydney such as those concerned with the "Rape of Union Square" in Pyrmont. We all are victims of this corrupt NSW Labor Government in the grip of developers who have lined their pockets with donations for so many years! Who are these people on the panel? Who ARE they answerable to? We want ANSWERS!

  • Ku-Ring-Gai residents should quite clearly take action for the following:

    1) Denial of natural justice.

    2) Denial of due process.

    3) A writ of mandamus.

In addition, those residents who have towers of units casting shadows all over their properties, and interfering with their privacy and enjoyment of their properties should sue not only the developers but the NSW Government for public and private nuisance, and loss of property value.

Union Square, Ku-Ring-Gai, rest of Sydney - what's next?

  • Brilliant! Don't give up the fight Ku-Ring-Gai. Stop the rot. This criminal NSW Labor Government must be stopped. The Rape of Ku-Ring-Gai must be stopped! NOW!

  • This is great! Great to see the people of Ku-Ring-Gai embracing this kind of technology to save the community.

I wasn't at the meeting, and even though I read about it and heard about it, actually seeing it blows ones mind. What a disgrace.

  • These developments already look tacky, soulless, cheap and nasty. Many resemble public housing projects from the 1960's. Imagine in 20 years time how they will age-- versus the heritage properties that were removed in the name of "progress".

  • I was there. It was a sham by a sham panel appointed by a sham Planning Minister and will be approved by a new sham Planning Minister. We need help!

  • we had a great response to the test video... it'll be interesting to see if "plannningpanel" reappears in these comments!

  • Where's the snotty one from the Planning Department? Unless it was a hoax I wonder why has it been removed?

  • The government is just using Ku-Ring-Gai as a dumping ground, just trying to make money. Public High schools are already struggling with trying to fit in the amount of students, with plenty of demountables being set up. Our facilities will not cope with a 30%-50% population increase, Ku-Ring-Gai will lose it's natural charm to these ugly, large developments. Shame on you Ms Keneally.

  • I've just realised that old hag in the middle shares my name!!!

  • I saw this video and there were many hits for the original viewing. Good on you for starting it up again. The other night a man in his seventies was seen putting up signs in the Ku-rin-gai area (against the overdevelopment), in the dark, icy night. People don't do this lightly. This is someone who cares deeply, putting his life and safety on the line for the cause.

  • Kristina Keneally should hang her head in shame. These units are nothing more than human filing cabinets polluting the landscape. Dumb development for fast cash at the community's expense.

  • Minister Keneally - one size does not fit all - Keep Ku ring gai's Canopy for the next generation - We need High Forest not High Rise for a sustainable future.

  • Maintain the rage! A Labor slogan for this appalling overdeveloping, environmentally destroying policy Ms Keneally.
