When I was 5 -6 years old I would play star wars with these boys that lived next to me. I was princess leah because I was a girl lol. I had hans solo, luke skywalker, death vadar, and princess leah action figures. I also had the millinium falcon. Stars was huge in 1978-79.
I think the reason why the Tie-Fighters wings popped off was that they were expected to lose and blown-up by the good-guys X-wing fighters. Good-guys weren't expected to lose and be blown-up.
It's hard to believe that they didn't have any Star Wars toys available for months after the movie came out. Not even by Christmas 1977. Nowadays the toys come out before the movie is even released.
Cool ad, I made a new video on how I made my own custom vintage TIE fighter. If anyone wants to check it out, click on my username, and find the video in my list (the list is pretty small)
that happened to me alot too so when i grew up, i bought everything i always wanted off of ebay even though i am an adult. It took me about a week of pay to buy everything I always wanted in my childhood. (Of course after I got tired of them I sold them back on ebay...)

DEATH STAR! That's what I've been looking for!
You're doing a great job on collecting only the commercials that look good.
Keep up the good work.
