Wrong. The Mayan culture, my good friend, was developed in the territory of South-east of Mexico: Tabasco, Quintana Roo, Campeche, Chiapas and Yucatan, and also some mean the territories of Central America.
Mayas ate basically corn and beans, but it is possible that they complemented they diet with several vegetables (green beans, squash, pumpkins) fruits (avocado, zapote), and probably they had some turkeys at home, they captured fish and also hunted deer, birds, iguana...
Apart from that, I'm not particularly sure that they actually stabbed a jaguar 15 times while it was WRITHING in pain.

Yo creo que no es correcto generalizar, muchos o la mayoria de los mexicanos sabemos que la guerra contra Estados Unidos la perdimos por nuestra culpa y de nadie mas, (por falta de unidad y solidaridad entre nosotros mismos principalmente).

Bueno, eso es lo q digo: La historiografia mexicana siempre se victimiza para demonizar o a europa o a EEUU.
Toma por ejemplo, la batalla de cerro Gordo, donde traidores mexicanos informaron a EEUU sobre un pasaje del cerro, al punto q es llamada "Termopilas".
Mexico, primero, debia arreglar sus conflictos internos, pues, por culpa de estos, tanto en la conquista española como enla guerra con EEUU, siempre tuvieron condiciones desfavorables q permitieron rapidas victorias de los invasores.

Segun lo q yo lei, los tlaxcaltecas eran la unica tribu a la q los aztecas no pudieron sojuzgar. Enfrentaron a Cortes, pero huyeron asustados por los caballos y los cañones.
Luego de aquello, los Conquistadores comenzaron la campaña con ayuda no solo de los tlaxcaltecas, si no de otras tribus y, quizas la mas importante, de "la malintxin".
No fue solo un genocidio español: Los indigenas mexicanos colaboraron con los españoles en la medida en q les permitian vengarse de los aztecas.

Tambien hay q poner como factor el genio organizativo de Cortes y la capacidad para determinar a sus hombres a la Conquista.
Muchos de ellos,si, terminaron siendo hombres terriblemente feroces, como Pedro de Alvarado, q luego extendio las conquistas, pero no creo q fueran solo factores internos los q determinaron la derrota azteca.Cortes fue importante. Si las otras ciudades estado hubieran sido quienes derrotaron militaremente a los aztecas, no se entiende como pasaron tanto tiempo sometidas.

Cierto, definitivamente los conquistadores espanoles tienen su merito ya que no hay que olvidar que lanzarse en una expedicion a lo desconocido requiere de una gran valentia e inteligencia pero tambien es un hecho que ni ellos mismos se esperaban encontrar con esas ventajas cuando llegaron.
Lo del sometimiendo de las ciudades estado se entiende bastante facil, y es aqui donde entra la profecia que Huizilopochtli les reveleo a los aztecas.

Bueno, naci en Argentina, pero mis antepesados son españoles y, de tanto oir la Leyenda Negra, decidi estudiar por mi cuenta y lei varios estudios...Entre ellos, los de Bernal Diaz de Castillo.
En mi opinion, ademas de los adelantos q poseian, fue tambiene el caracter europeo lo q decidio la contienda y permitio extender las conquistas.
En Peru tambien, siendo minoria, derrumbaron el Imperio Inca estando en inferioridad numerica.
Jugaron tambien factores internos, pero no lo fueron todo...

Ah ya entiendo, si es verdad, tarde o temprano la conquista de toda America era inevitable y solo cuestion de tiempo, es logico que despues de que los Europeos vieron la cantidad de riquezas que habia en estas tierras no las iban a dejar escapar asi como asi, incluso si hubiesen sido derrotados en su primer intento de conquista hubiesen regresado con mas refuerzos o alianzas entre ellos para la conquista.

Fue un momento casi sincronizado y negativo que los Espanoles vinieron justo cuando dos hermanos se disputaban el poder del Imperio. Como dice la frase "Divide y reinaras..." Si, lo vi, pero date cuenta de q con los aztecas ejemplifico a las civilizaciones precolombinas que tenian poder para realizar campañas militares a gran escala (Mayas incluidos). Lo q hacen los mayas en la pelicula es similar a los q hicieron los aztecas en las llamadas, "guerras floridas"; es decir, hacer guerras sin mas intencion q la de tomar prisioneros para sus sacrificios.
Al llegar los españoles, los aztecas y mayas habian exterminado varias culturas por el mismo metodo.

Like I said, cinema is a trace of culture, and if, of course you're right in saying that this film is that one can rent any of bluckbuster, this is how I consider this film, but it is alarming that there are people in the world that believes that this is what really happened! as happened with the Slaughter of the Christ, directed by the same director, but in the end, each with their own criteria.

The deleted scene features an injured deer. An innocent, harmless, injured deer with big sad eyes and long eyelashes. Bambi, in other words. Now, that would get a lot of sentimental animal rights people out of their seats, I believe.

Mel Gibson should make part two, when the Spaniards start conquering. That would be awsome. Also, many American tribes actually became allies to the Spaniards to stop the brutality caused by the Aztecs and Mayans. Spain was cruel at first, but they needed to be, then they colonized and mixed with Indians and the Latin American was born. I think Latin America is better off now than they were before. If The Spaniards wouldn't have done this, the british or french would of done it and more brutally

Most north American Indians froze to death or were killed. Now they live in resevations. At least you still have your country thanks in part to Spain.
