I would encourage all of the naysayers on this board to step away from their keyboards where anyone and everyone can be as talented/tough/knowledgeable/capable as they semi-anonymously claim just long enough to train with the man.
I like all styles of martial arts: Thai boxing ,Silat, TKD, Wing Chun, BJJ, Viet Vu dao etc... u can see that this guy knows how to brawl but in Wing Chun u must teach the students the basics... This guy needs to learn the basics himself just because u know how to chain punch or just because you have touched a wooden dummy does not make you a Sifu!! He might know all the other Martial Art Forms but his Wing Chun is slopy... if you want to gain respect in the Wing Chun world you must have skillz!
Joseph Simonet is no joke! Google him! He has been doing martial arts since 1972. He holds several black belts in various arts including Kenpo Karate, Thia boxing, Silat, and Wing Chun just to name a few. He has owned and operated several Martial arts studios over the years, and was also a competitive power lifter. He has been around for a while. He is just now starting to be come known in the martial arts world. Trust me this guy can pulverize people!! He might be old but he has experience!
I'm trying to understand who and what this guy is. He's all over Youtube and claims to be a "master" (by who) but I've never heard of him. Did he do anything before being old and bald? He's thick, and he explains HIS stuff well, but I get the feeling that like many he has "dumbed" things down because of his own limitations, not to better the art. There is honor to learning ALL of an art or it stops being an art. If you just wanna fight, learn to box and wrestle.

WingTsunSystem is right. This guy shouldn't be teaching, his posture is all wrong. Your weight should always be on your rear leg, that is basic stuff!!
hi never wrote any comment on youtube but those pathetic comments i saw here made me to i watched the hole dvd with ma friend our conclusion simonets stuff is simply awesome foremost for its adaptivity aka the possibility to blend it into once personal skills telling you our backround not to pose jus for u to value: ma buddy 10years doorman brown belt luta livre 1TG WT + latosa eskrima accomplished boxer and thaiboxer with 2 mma fights maself 36 muay thai fights 2 mma blue belt luta livre
you dont think a woman can beat you up?you thought wrong, try to go over to them, and try to hurt them, you will get so beat up,that you will be crying all over the place,i also agree with wespozo, because you could get tattoos at a young age and still have them when you are older,so shut up scopedOUT2!!!!!!!!!you know nothing about them!
If that is Wing Chun then its poor, there is no lower structure and without that your in a lot of trouble. Watch as he kicks the dummy at the end, he leans right forward when all his weight should be on his rear leg and he should simply sink into his rear leg generating all the power . Im sorry to say if this was a real opponent and the opponent moved he would fall onto his face and then be in serious trouble. Basics and structure not looking good and making lots of money.
controlled insanity ,calculated rage ? these are oxymorons .there is no such thing .now im not saying this concept is shit or wont work im just saying he is gonna lose a lot of interest from others with them stupid ass comments .
I interpret what he is saying as a combination of twitch muscle reflex and the ability to draw on an immediate burst of adrenalin and anger to deliver a crushing introduction of overwhelming force. Many would consider this a type of chi/ki and even add some form of verbal kiai to add impact. What's important is to be able to do so instantly and continue until the opponent is neutralized. A useful tool is to keep a mental snapshot of a person or occurrence that you can pull up mentally.

Looks like a pak sau and palm strike with the hands and a wing chun kick to me. I'm still learning the terminology but it looks suspiciously like wing chun lol what is it that's unwingchunny (technical term) to you?
The dummy is almost the same and the techniques were wing chun. He just took multiple martial arts for his system, Wing Chun being the most imporant (the way I see it)
Any possible way you could reply with an intelligent comment? Most of the communication on this site is to further advance our learning and understanding of martial arts. It is narrow minded comments like yours that really make me wonder who you had spell out some of the big words in that profound sentence of yours..... Anyway get back to your finger painting and juice box and leave the learning to the rest of us
no. he prolly knew ppl like u would reply like the way u did and not think bout wat he really was saying, which is basically that this is bullshit, no need for argument. what the hell is the point of this or wingchun? ive taken kungfu and wingchun for years alongside with jujitsu and judo and muaythai and no matter how modern or MMA the instructors try to make it, wing chun is and always will be organized despair.
Would be nice if he demonstrated more of what he was talking about. The six second of rage attack is good and more like how a real street fight is so that was good theory at least.
his verbal kung fu is stronger than his physical kung fu

"we're going to build a defense system for you individually" as he orders them to stand infront of the dummy and do the same thing.
