  • what kind of pencil should i use I am new to sketching

  • @deandre11ify You could always buy some at any art store. Not all are good brands. I use 'Kimberly's" personally. If you do buy pencils it should be in a box with several tones. Mine has: 4H, 2H, F, HB, B, 2B, 3B, 4B, 6B, 8B. Those are probably the basics and you could use them to draw the eye in this video. Hope this was helpful....I'm only 15 so I hope I answered your question. =)

  • @deandre11ify oops also! i notice that he doesn't point it out in the video but your hands do have natural oil no matter how many times you clean them so if you brush off graphite with your hand it usually gets really sloppy and spreads alot so i personally use a small paintbrush...^_^

  • @MissColorfulSoul thanks

  • you're so good thank's for sharing

  • you're so good thak's for sharing

  • How people can dislike it ??! Thanks a lot!

  • It took me five minutes to draw an awesome eye you're an amazing teacher :)

  • what kind of pencils did you use?

  • @ayojillie I have a full box of pencils from 9H to 9B. But the ones that i like to use are HB, 2B, 4B and 8B.. Start drawing with all of them and choose the ones that give you the best results. The thing you have to be careful on is to buy quality pencils because you can never get the results with an ordinary pencil.

  • Thumbs up if you're just using one pencil... -___-;

  • Amazing thank you so much for the tutorials.......... more more more!!!!!!!!!!

  • Wow ! Awesome.

  • its simply admirable when one can create such a well done piece with seemingly very little effort.

  • wheres the others 25%? XD

  • slow the hell down

  • can u do a video on how to draw asian eyes? not anime, but literal asian female eyes

  • very cool!

  • this is my best video

  • I like it a lot. It's great, but if it should be teaching, maybe you could mention how you put on shadows. (: I think not everbody knows about the techniques.

Thanks for your videos, mate, they are very helpfull :)

  • what is the difference between 1b and 10 b pencil?>/??

  • i am a not so very expereinced drawer but you are prett damn good artist!!<3

  • Very nice to see it get done!

Very nice to see how to do it!

I never thougt of using shapes..... You opened my vision in one lesson to another level

  • ill tell u what u did wrong the eye brow is not following the same proportion as the eye itself but still its was a very good step by step video i still enjoyed it

  • nice one ! :)

  • i.imgur (dot) com/1Bvir (dot) png <--How you think I did? First time I ever followed step-by-step drawing from a video...

  • @LouisTheAsian Don't mind the bottom text of the pic lol, I was in an internet chat and thought it was funny

  • that's gd but not perfect eyebrows

  • Being able to veiw and understand proportions is very important, but i feel that using the technique of visual measuring combined with checking angles is by far the most effective method.

  • is an ear bud ok for smudging?i always have problem shading..

  • okay well im an artist and i absolutely LOVE to draw eyes its my favorite. im just 12 but i can tell im the best in the sixth grade. so like yh like i was saying, i want to draw like you so much but i want it to look like i drew it when i print it out. amazing! please keep the videos coming

  • I know this is a little stupid but i started drawing when i was about 9 and im 11 and i drew it but in my styke made it sorta abstract cuz i used a harder charcoal and used in a diffrent way but i was wondering in what way would the nose go to the left ii made iit sort of like sorta luking towards the side i know itz stupid but i was just wondering???

  • Great work!!!

  • so i tried drawing this too....and, umm, mine didnt exactly turn out like urs.....im giving up

  • @moonira0209 Your suppose to practice,to get better.

you cant get better in just a month

  • its good

  • good its simple ive seen some how tos that are extremely diffiult i can draw verry well but i cant show how to draw at all i make it look completly difficult when its not looks great

  • what kind of paper should i be using? b/c it looks like my regular printer paper doesn't have a texture to it that i might need to make my pieces look really good.

  • it's not evan that great

  • is this the persons left or right eye? i keep looking at it and i can understand which one it is for some reason. its a very good drawing; i had to go out and buy proper pencils to get it just right :)

  • very good tip to do the finishing touches with a very light touch. i'm going to try that out.

  • @jacwilliams666 your right, jsut noticed, the iris does need a tab mroe detail

  • another comment, correct me if im wrong, but shouldnt the eye brow be less wider since its in a semi profile view?

  • this is alot better than the nose drawing i liek it..even tho im good at drawing eyes i tohught i'd watch this

  • WOW! that is incredable! i got it as close as possible....what i wasnt sure how to do was how to make the eye appear so shiney and round... but this was great, thank you:)

  • definately the most helpfull vids on art ive seen lately . thank you =]

  • Good job! *thumbs up*

  • thank you!

  • Oh, the only other thing i thought is maybe you should explain why those shapes are that why maybe get into the bone structure under the sink so people have a better understanding... Just a suggestion. What do you think?

  • @k121188 oops! replied to this in other comment!

  • should the shading be smoother?

I am a self taught artist and i do like how you emphasized making goemetric shapes first. I have never thought of it that way. I think I some what do that naturally, but that really gave me some new ideas of how to look at something when I am having a hard to drawing something.

  • @k121188 Its a great suggestion. I get overwhelmed when there is too much information thrown at me, so I try to make it bite size. But that would be a good "bite" for another video.

  • dam your the best

  • :):):) Thank you!

  • this is just plain amazing GREAT JOB!

  • PANCAKE!!! I missed your comment! Sorry about that! Thank you so much for that! I hope that all of your drawing work and everything else is going well!

    -Merrill

  • Very nice. Yet again, you explained it perfectly and showed it so it seems and sort of is simple. Great work as always.

    -Angus

  • Angus, You ROCK! Thanks again!

    -Merrill

  • THANK YOU INKB0X! I would recommend using thicker drawing paper. I use Blick White Sulphite Drawing Paper (80lbs.) for my pencil drawings. Its cheap and you could buy it in bulk. I have a link on my website under "supplies I use". For work with markers (my other videos cover that), I use Borden and Riley Bleedproof paper.....but that would be overkill for a pencil drawing.

  • This is nice. I like that you gave a pdf for students to download.

  • I had to think of something! I didn't have any Simpsons connections!!!!! LOL Thanks Evan!
