the golden age of animation was only possible with Mel Blanc's voice acting I'm only 18 and my favorite cartoons have always been looney toons...he had such a wide range of voices that all became memorable characters with memorable quotes...RIP

I remember hearing that in a Looney Tunes documentary. They tried a bunch of other vegetables, but nothing was close enough for a carrot. So he had to spit it out after he said said the line.

mel blanc was a sort of unsung heroes of sorts. many people just took the warner bros. cartoon voices for granted, but not this inquisitive kid. i was aware of mel blanc's genius when i was a young kid watching ''the jack benny show'', on which he was a regular. for instance he did the mexican guy with the sombrero with the ''si'' routine. remember...every question benny would ask, mel would answer with ''si''. then after about 4 ''si's'' he would ask his name. the reply...''cy''. hilarious.
