@willjk3025 Yeah and i dont think the 99 and 01 cobras were over rated. They usually dyno 280-290hp which is about right.... (in comparison to the mach 1 yea the mach shouldve had the same hp rating as the 01 cobra i believe) And the 03-04 cobra might have been under rated 10hp if that.

99-04 mustang gt 260 over rated hp

03-04 mach1 under rated 305hp

03-04 cobra under rated 380hp

99-01 cobra over rated 320 hp

You are pretty smart on your statistics, but I've owned a Bullitt and I can tell you there is a difference between the GT of that year. With the larger intake manifold and Cobra's injectors, Ford stated that 90% percent of the torque curve was available at around 2,000 rpm's. This made the car faster in real life but barely noticeable on paper.

Your stats are a little off. My 99 GT dynoed @ 219 stock before cam install, which considering 15% drivetrain loss that equates to about 257-258 crank hp, so I'd say Ford was spot on.

the bullitt was rated at 285hp

not too far off but 03/04 cobra were 390hp.

There would have been no point in making a bullitt if it only had 5 more horse than the gt did. But it actually had about 20 more horse.

this info is correct, but the Cobras were underrated, they had around 420-430bhp, but Ford had them rated at 390hp.

as far as a cobra at 03/04 cobra with 500, there are plenty of them, but they have some serious mods.

@wharpig Well I'm not all that familiar with the Terminator Cobra's but I'm quite familiar with the S197 GT500's. Now to make it a GT500KR or even a SS all you really have to due is change out the pulley.

Wouldn't the Terminators be able to do this as well since they are supercharged?

the regular gt has a 2v 4.6 rated at about 260 hp, the mach 1 has a 4v 4.6 rated at 320 hp. Ford hasn't offered anything bigger than a 5.0 pushrod since the 70s. And a 351 is 5.8L in ford land
