Throwing in the Sub-Trunk with a Tip-Over is clever but...not new. I will comend the speed at which the Metamorphosis effect is done. I was impressed with that. AND the umbrellas were a clever way to re-introduce the magician back into the equation.
However, the vanish of the "troop" took too long to set up and played very poorly.
Take into account that we may not have caught this magician in his prime...I hope not.
If not...I comend the effort and would never discount a valid effort.
This routine/effect is known as "Things that go Bump in the Night." copperfield has done it as "The Big Black Box." his uses the Million Dollar Mystery effect and this uses a Tip-over Trunk. I have performed this illusion many times and love it. I love anyone's attempt at doing Magical Illusion as a performance but, this falls short on my liking. This effect is so strong, a decent performer could let it stand on it's own. All of everything else is lost on me as to why it's involved in this show.
there's stuff there whose method the Masked Magician wouldn't bother exposing, but the whole thing has a sense of wonder because of the outstanding presentations (an element where Valentino usually falls down, thinking that presentation=revealing costumes - not on him, of course)
