yup, old timers who drove these rigs said the best way to drive a detroit is when pised off, hold em to the rev limiter and they run great, just think what the old timers thought when these engines started being offered back in 1950's! I am from Finland, and we don't have 2-stroke diesels except in ocean ships made here, but I love the sound of Detroit Diesel 2-stroke. Best on earth! I want someday find one, for tractor or something like that, as our law sucks bigtime and dream of detroit diesel under hood of any road legally, is not just possible :(

My dad hauled logs on a gmc 7500 when I was growing up , it was a live tandem,Ill never forget the sound of that truck when the jakes come on , it was alot louder than this one. We use to get stopped by the dot every day or 2 because the noise , brings back alot of memories.
