  • a turtle can't be kept in a tank with fish. It needs shallow water!! It needs to go to the surface to breathe.

  • @breslavia007

Well no shit thats why I had docks for him to get out of the water.. Lol

  • These are a fairly docile fish, wont eat anything that cant fit in their mouths, and this is probably the number one thing to pop up when you look up a proper tank mate; no aggressive/fin biters. You put that poor thing into a tank with a red ear slider(?), a greeen terror , and multiple pairs of large cichlids. RESEARCH! Him swimming around like that was a sign that if you didnt give him hiding places and marine salt... wait!.. Do you understand what brackishwater is?... Ignorance kills..

  • @Gingerkid428 I was told by petland and a local independent pet store,to just add aquarium salt and that's all it would need as far as salt goes. I had him/her for a couple months but when I moved it and put it in another tank apparently I didn't have enough aquarium salt and due to stress from the moviing,I'm assuming that is why it died.

  • Moray eels need at least brackish water, depending on the species (can't tell what this one is). They also need marine salt, not the aquarium salt used for health.

The pet stores never tell you the truth, they lable all brackish water fish as freshwater and alot of them end up either stressed or dead. I have learned through experience that one should never buy any animal without proper research.

That eel was a gymnothorax tile snowflake eel. The 1 in the video actually ended up dying. But just so every1 knows, when I did have him/her whatever it was .....When we first got it we didn't have aquarium salt and all it did was hide all the time and then we got the salt and suddenly it was out from hiding all the time. swimming all around and it seemed happy until the tank change...

==The local petland here in upstate ny actually have 1 that's in a freshwater tank too

  • do you need to add saltwater to your tank? and does it hurt the oscars ?

  • @JankyScooters

We added api Aquarium salt and no it didn't effect any of the other fish. When you go to petland or petco or even petsmart , they all have a container in their tanks that actually holds the same salt. This eel ended up dying when we went to move him into another tank.
