Actually, *SPOILER ALERT* (you've been warned) I think the only reason he speaks only once at the beginning of the game is because right after he speaks Atlas/Fontaine takes his mind under control "would you kindly..." ect. So there's really no way he could speak since he basically has to do what Atlas/Fontaine says without questions. That's just my interpretation of why he only speaks once.I could be wrong though, of course.

I don't think Andrew Ryan nows that Fontaine is atlas, because in a radio call fontaine says that Ryan wanted him dead, so he got a new face, changed his name to Atlas and made home for the poor, and hotels for kids and made Ryan look like he could be the bad guy, then the splicer war got out Atlas vs Ryan.

When you say info on jacks face from the first trailer thats where you're wrong, he dose not have the chain tatoos on his wrists, but thank you i did not notice what Jacks face was like until i watched this video. I also like how Irrational Games acts like his face matters a whole lot so they just put a picture in the room and say there whats done is done.

@patrick00193 Well, your conclusion is correct, but your means are incorrect. The Mom and Dad are (in a way) Fontaine and Tenenbaum. But yes, Ryan is his biological father, and Jasmine Jolene is his mother.
I didn't come across any diaries or transmissions that infer Ryan actually knew that Atlas and Fontaine were the same person. All the dialogue from Ryan would indicate he was still in the dark regarding that one fact at the time of his death. Atlas's headquarters and Suchong's clinic were both in Apollo square, considering his untimely death after signing up with Ryan, it is entirely plausible Atlas would use the opportunity and his proximity to the scene to do some information gathering.
If Ryan did know that Atlas and Fontaine were the same person, why use the blank photo to indicate Atlas in the diagram? If Atlas's knowledge of Jack's conditioning is the key piece of evidence proving his true identity, then anyone able to break into Suchong's flat would be able to get enough information to do the same. Really the only leap is that Atlas was able to send a man to the scene so rapidly after Jack's arrival. But considering the result, it ended up looking spur of the moment
@ShiningOmega I'm not arguing that Ryan didn't know that Fontaine was the grand architect behind the entire plot, but that despite the evidence he still believed that Frank had died during his initial raid . He never says anything that directly contradicts that point. I'm not arguing against Ryan's intellect, I'm merely offering that his pride obscured his understanding of the facts, which is really the entire reason the Rapture experiment ended up failing in the first place.
In the beginning, he doesn't "sink" down to rapture, he swims to a big tower after the plane crash and is lowered down to rapture by a machine. Also, wouldn't jack know what he looks like and could tell that that isnt him in the photo?

They've altered his perceptions of himself and his history to fit what they desire. If his memories show him looking like that with his parents, then he has no empirical evidence against it.
Actually you can see Jack's face in the BioShock Wiki. You also hear his voice in Dr Suchongs audio diary when he is told to 'kindly break the puppy's neck' :(

@wolfman200100 Yeah, Tenenbaum is in BioShock 2 for about 2 minutes. She was one of the main characters in BioShock, so why would it be strange to have her on the board? Did you play the original?
Great video and I do believe that is jacks face in the would you kindly room but in the trailer that is not jack because when he uses the winter blast plasmid you can see on his wrist there is no tattoo I'm not trying to hate on this video I'm just pointing that out.
They probably just look gold because of Bioshock's epic lighting and bloom effects.
That being said, there are no gold wrenches in the game, but you can collect wrenches dropped from Thuggish Splicers, but it has no effect, and is probably like that because the game allows you to pick up the first wrench in the game.
@CentralXbox It was an early version of Jack. The game went through multiple aesthetic versions until settling on a final version. Hence the lack of chain tattoos and vest instead of sweater. I wasn't using him as an exact template for my final answer, just to show that he was a white guy with short, dark hair. They did keep that aspect of his character for the final version.

btw ryan didnt know that atlas was fontaine. example: the WHO IS ATLAS? signs throughout the game starting at arcadia.
another example is that peach willikins told everyone in encounter that atlas was fontaine at some point (dont trust him with your secrets, guys). and andrew ryan employed him, an encounter, so he mustve told ryan, but ryan didnt believe him (as for the WHO IS ATLAS? signs).
If you pay close attention to the Atlas photo (especially to the left eye (right on the picture) , you can clearly see that this is actually Fontaine in a wig or with genetically reconstructed hair (or simply a younger Fontaine). One of the many hints hidden in plain sight (not unlike the phrase "would you kindly").

If Ryan did know that Atlas and Fontaine were the same person, why use the blank photo to indicate Atlas in the diagram? If Atlas's knowledge of Jack's conditioning is the key piece of evidence proving his true identity, then anyone able to break into Suchong's flat would be able to get enough information to do the same. Really the only leap is that Atlas was able to send a man to the scene so rapidly after Jack's arrival. But considering the result, it ended up looking spur of the moment

He was aware that Fontaine now had his child at his disposal, and Suchong's expertise in genetics as an employee of Fontaine Futuristics.
When Jack shows up on his doorstep, being controlled by Atlas, Ryan can put two and two together.
I mean, if Peach Wilkins figured it out after dealing with Jack for five minutes, then Ryan would after watching him for the whole game.

@ShiningOmega I'm not arguing that Ryan didn't know that Fontaine was the grand architect behind the entire plot, but that despite the evidence he still believed that Frank had died during his initial raid . He never says anything that directly contradicts that point. I'm not arguing against Ryan's intellect, I'm merely offering that his pride obscured his understanding of the facts, which is really the entire reason the Rapture experiment ended up failing in the first place.

In the beginning, he doesn't "sink" down to rapture, he swims to a big tower after the plane crash and is lowered down to rapture by a machine. Also, wouldn't jack know what he looks like and could tell that that isnt him in the photo?

@saucon12 It was an early version of the game, they hadn't added in the sweater, chain tattoos, or bathysphere yet. No, Jack doesn't question what he looks like. They've altered his perceptions of himself and his history to fit what they desire. If his memories show him looking like that with his parents, then he has no empirical evidence against it.

Actually you can see Jack's face in the BioShock Wiki. You also hear his voice in Dr Suchongs audio diary when he is told to 'kindly break the puppy's neck' :(

As for his voice in the audio diary, I mean in the course of the game, his opening speech is the only thing he says.

They probably just look gold because of Bioshock's epic lighting and bloom effects.
That being said, there are no gold wrenches in the game, but you can collect wrenches dropped from Thuggish Splicers, but it has no effect, and is probably like that because the game allows you to pick up the first wrench in the game.

@CentralXbox It was an early version of Jack. The game went through multiple aesthetic versions until settling on a final version. Hence the lack of chain tattoos and vest instead of sweater. I wasn't using him as an exact template for my final answer, just to show that he was a white guy with short, dark hair. They did keep that aspect of his character for the final version.

btw ryan didnt know that atlas was fontaine. example: the WHO IS ATLAS? signs throughout the game starting at arcadia.
another example is that peach willikins told everyone in encounter that atlas was fontaine at some point (dont trust him with your secrets, guys). and andrew ryan employed him, an encounter, so he mustve told ryan, but ryan didnt believe him (as for the WHO IS ATLAS? signs).

If you pay close attention to the Atlas photo (especially to the left eye (right on the picture) , you can clearly see that this is actually Fontaine in a wig or with genetically reconstructed hair (or simply a younger Fontaine). One of the many hints hidden in plain sight (not unlike the phrase "would you kindly").
